It needs to be chrome lined, threaded muzzle, would prefer front sight riser be already installed. What I'm looking for is a M16A1 barrel with a faster twist. Does anybody make one? Thanks.

Randall at AR15barrels.com can turn any 20" HBAR or Gov't profile down to .625"

Why a 1/9 instead of a 1/7?

Two reasons, the lore is that the 1/7 twist will wear quicker than 1/9. The other reason is that I'll not likely be shooting anything heavier than 62g in it, and more of 55g than even those.

Bushmaster makes a 1-9 20" Gov. Profile barrel. PK Firearms has uppers (less bolt and carrier) for $370.

I want a 1-9 twist 20" as well. I don't think I will be shooting anything over 69 grains, but I do have lighter than 55 grain bullets around.

1/7 will shoot 55 grain bullets fine. I have done it literally multiple thousands of times over the past 21 years.

As to the barrel wear, last I heard that myth was largely busted and the difference was miniscule.

Yep, sounds like more marketing hype from the catalogs that Bushmaster has sent out over the years.

In 20" A1 diameter barrels, I stick with the Colt 1/7. Although all I usually shoot nowadays is 75gr., I"ve ever had a problem using 55gr in those.

Kisara: I went to Colt's website, parts, and there was a list of barrel assemblies that fit various model rifles, the #6--- series numbers. Which model would I be looking for in a skinny 20" barrel? Thanks
