doesnt powder coating apply a thickness that can interfere with the tolerances and operation of machined parts? Anodization is a strong coating but its much thinner. BTW powdercoating, since it is a coating, it can crack and chip. You cannot chip or crack annodization since its actually a part of the metal itself. Powdercoating adds weight too. I believe anodization is easy to do in large batches but not small but powdercoating is better for small batches.

The fact that powdercoating removes the metallic look, can chip/crack, and adds weight would be the main reason why I wouldnt do it.

Powdercoat is a lot thicker in comparison to aerosol paint.

I'd go with Duracoat myself.

I guess it'd be okay if you can control the thickness of the powdercoat.
