Where's everybody getting their M&P grip tape (skateboard tape) at? I did a search and I can only find Glock grip tape.

I've used Tac-Grip on my M&P's with great luck but I've also copied the shape and cut my own of of skateboard tape. Quick note, it's tough to see but I also put a little strip of grip tape under the trigger guard to help "lock" my hand into place.

Jessup is the best of the best as far as grip tape is concerned. I am unsure if thier wakeboard version is tougher and more durable than thier skateboard version. There may be no difference at all. They have been around since 75 and thats all they do.

i bought the tru-grip. then used it to cut out pieces from skateboard tape. i also trimmed it to go only halfway onto the frontstrap, this helps to keep the grit away from my skin.

and since i had stipled the backstrap, i cut that part out too.

I've been using the step tape stuff you can buy at Lowe's primarily because it's available and I can cut it to just cover the areas of the grip that I want extra traction on. I don't want the whole grip covered in sand paper, but extra purchase where the meat of my left hand clamps on the gun is desirable, as I can feel that section of my hand slipping in recoil.

The problem is that it moves around too much. I'm going to give the Jessup stuff mentioned earlier a try.

At the skateboard shop, ask the kid working there for a brand called "Negative One" brand tape.

It is what Wesselman uses. You still need to make your own stencil & cut it out yourself.

"Iron Horse" is good as well...

20.00 but it provides more tape than the hardware store roll of 3M.

Here maybe another option for some people. I just got these two grip inserts back from "Cold Bore Customs". He did his Tactical Texture (the finer looking one) on one insert and his carry texture ( the coarser looking one) on the other. I am awaiting two of the S&W M&P "PT" Pistols from G&R Tactical and am planning to have some grip texturing done on them and wanted to check this guys work out first. While there are other excellent and better known people who do this type of work, IMHO Cold Bore Customs has the most factory and non aftermarket looking texture I have ever seen, but because of the lighting and reflections these pictures don't do his work justice. Including shipping, texturing on two inserts was a whopping $36. This guy is not real well known (yet), as I got these inserts back in a week. His attention to detail, prices and turn around times are second to none.

No, it's some other brand of step tape they carry at Lowe's. My order for the Jessup didn't go through, so I'll check for some 3M.

Is Eric still making/shipping Tru-Grip? Dude kinda fell off the face of the Internet, which was a shame because his products were excellent.

I've also used Tac-Grip, and it works well. Nowadays, I've stippled all my M&P grips with a woodburner...
