I bought 1000 of the Rem 1/12 for my .40 then when i got home saw the warning saying not to use in .40, .357sig, and i think .357mag. anyone ever use these in a .40? they are small pistol primers how different would they be? I usually use Winchester primers, but they were all out.

my normal load is 6.3g(i think) power pistol, win. small pistol primers and brass with hornady 180gr. fmj.

Not sure about the .40 thing, but a couple of shooting buddies have had lots
of issues with Remington primers in sm. pistol with 9mm. Not sure why.
But I am steering clear of them.

Remington does the same thing with the 6 1/2 Sr primer, You have to read the fine print to find that you shouldnt use them in .223/.556 etc. The cups are thinner as I undersatnd it and pierced primers are the result. In light loads the 1 1/2 would probably be fine but you have to decide if you want to risk even trying it.

40 cal is designed around a magnum small pistol primer (rem #51/2) but you can safely sub a regular small pistol primer of any brand without a problem

You shouldn't have a problem with them. I have used them for loading 40 S&W without problems. As mentioned above, there might be a risk from the cup being soft/thin that could cause a slamfire condition, however I have not seen it yet in my reloading.
