A link in one of the recent posts by irishluck73 led me to this one. I searched and couldn't find anything posted about it, so forgive me if it's been discussed.
The circumstances are somewhat vague, but apparently the shooter, Gerald Ung, had a verbal altercation with the guy who got shot, Eddie DiDonato Jr, and a few of his friends. DiDonato and friends follow and harass Ung and his GF. Ung, a CCP holder from Virginia, pulls a gun and begins to back away, sweeping left and right. DiDonato then appears to lunge at him, and the shooter fires, hitting him five times.
What's interesting is that DiDonato is the former captain of the Villanova lacrosse team and is the son of a lawyer and the nephew of the city GOP leader. The shooter, a law student at Temple University, is an out-of-state CCP holder. From the video, it looks like a clear-cut self defense shooting, but I'll try to refrain from armchair quarterbacking that. The family of DiDonato—speaking through a family friend who is the head of a PR firm—is claiming that he jumped in front of the gun to protect his friends. The shooter is facing multiple charges.

Temple University grad student Gerald Ung allegedly shot Villanova graduate Ed DiDonato at 4th and Market Streets early Sunday morning.
Police sources tell Fox 29 an argument started at a scaffolding next to Fox 29 where the shooting victim was bumped while doing chin ups at 2:30 a.m.
On surveillance video taken by Fox 29, one man was rushed by another group and then he pulls a gun.
The man who is the shooting victim moves toward the man with the gun, who shoots several times.
When the video is slowed down, the shooting victim can be seen delivering punches even as the gun is discharging.
Our security cameras then show the minutes after the shooting.
The victim lays on the ground, the shooter is seen at the bottom right, doesn't flee, but takes his cell out to call for help.
Police sources tell Fox 29 that Ung has a firearms permit issued to him from Virginia.
He is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and related offenses.
DiDonato was in critical condition at Jefferson University Hospital.
