View Full Version : Quality QD Sling Swivels?
Can anyone recommend some QUALITY QD swivels? I have an Uncle Mike's heavy duty swivel but it has turned out to be not so heavy duty. One of the ball bearings fell out within a month or so of use, and it's probably only a matter of time before the rest fall out.
Are the Troy Industries swivels any good? Price is not a concern if it nets me some gear that will last a long time. Any other good ones?

Midwest Industries makes quality stuff. I've had one of their QD heavy-duty sling swivels for awhile now and haven't had any problems. When I was ordering it though I also looked at Troy's and from what I can tell their pretty much the same so I think you're good to go either way. Here's a link for Midwest...

After having a similar experience, I will only buy mine from Vltor or Daniel Defense. I am not sure that either of those companies are actually manufacturing the swivels but I have never had one from them fail.
For me it's either MI or DD. The dark gray color on the DD looks great as well. I've got QD's on all of me carbines and have never had a problem with the 2 listed.
I've been very impressed with TangoDown's.

I've used Vltor and DD with no issues, but Blue Force Gear QD swivels are the best by far in terms of solid construction. And they have a smaller outer diameter to boot.
Gear sector are very nice.
I know my Troys are stainless, never had a problem and never have to worry about any rust creeping in later...not sure about the others.
