I was recently asked to shorten the stock of a friend's Benelli Super 90 to improve the reach while wearing armor. Not being a shotgun guy I assume that aftermarket stocks are either not available or are pricey. I was able to shorten the stock 1.250" and remount the stock recoil pad without the need for extra components. Remove the stock, cut off the 1.250"length (removing a maximum of 1.250" leaves just enough of the stock bosses to use) and dremel a pocket replicating the stock recoil pad pocket. Drill pilot holes in the center of remaining boss locations and replace the two mounting screws with .5" length self tapping screws. I then used a belt sander to form the rubber pad to the stock. I also Duracoated with WW2 OD Green. Attached are shots of the finished product.
