Non FSB gas block install FAQ

Is there a FAQ or thread on installing GB's like the Vltor low profile ones???

Or am I overthinking this, do you just use a dimpled barrel and mount the GM with rocksett or green loctite, if you how do you check the gas port alignment.

I measured it with a ruler, about 1/32" of an inch (instructions called for .025" on mine, 1/32 is .031", dont have a VLTOR). Leveled the top of it so it was straight, then tightened the screws down.

Fired about 20 rounds, removed the gas block to check the carbon print left on the gas block from the barrel (the gas block port is larger than the barrels port).
The centers of the circles were lined up pretty well, so I put it back on the same way, loctited it down and retested with no problems.
