View Full Version : Benefit of polymer furniture
Today (24 degrees and driving snow) was one of those days where my hand was wet and actually sticking to the aluminum rail through my gloves. Aside from a hot cup of coffee, I was sure wishing I had a $29.95 polymer hand guard.

You're probably gonna laugh at me for my solution to this very real problem. I live in Wisconsin and temps have been in the "Basement" for awhile now.
Had the same problem when I was testing a customer rifle a week or so ago. My left hand froze to the handguard.
Here's the "fix".
I rubber banded a pot holder to the gripping area on the forearm.
End of problem

Mechanix Gloves
1 or 2 magazine dumps should take care of this problem...
Seriously, I recently shot my AR in 22 degrees weather and didn't have problems; KAC rail covers and Camelback gloves must've helped.

Important part of my post. CUSTOMER WEAPON!
Not mine to alter and swapping stuff on and off rails tends to mar them. I don't want to have to go over a customer weapon with a detailing kit in order to get rid of itty bitty marks left there by bypods/grips/covers. Call me anal if you want but time is money in any business.
