Who has an ACOG? What rifles will shoot inline with the dots on the scope? It is adjustable for all rifles or just for a full size M16? I want to put one on an M1A Socom. Maybe I need a different rail? How good are these for CQB such as 25 yards? My understanding is that they are a medium to long range scope...

How much eye relief do you need on this?

all of the answers to your questions exist on the trijicon website

The M4 variants are designed for the ballistics of M855 out of a 14.5 barrel. A4 is obviously M855 out of a 20" barrel.

They make some with 308 BDC's.

How good are they at CQB? Depends on the shooter, their training, and ability. Im ok using the BAC and some cannot shoot with it. I did a few live fire shoot house courses in Kuwait using a TA31F, and I was able to hit what I was trying to. An Aimpoint or EOTech is a lot better choice however.

I wouldn't call an ACOG a long range optic. Its only 4X although it does help with longer shots.

The 4X ACOG's do not have much eye relief. The ones with less magnification are better as far as eye relief goes but you lose magnification.

That 4x will go a long way in target ID in a pinch though.
