My google skills are pretty weak and I'm looking for a good place to go camping in VA, MD, or WV. Not the "lets drive our car to the site and pull out our luggage" type camping. We are aiming for more of a primitive style camping trip. I'm trying to plan a trip for me and my military buddies. Thanks in advance guys!

Not sure where you're located but Jefferson National Forest in southwest VA has endless possibilities. Unfortunately it would be very difficult for me to give directions to spots though, it's one of those cases where I'd have to show you myself.

I usually camp on private land in the Shenendoah, but that's more drive up to the spot camping, not rugged.

As for Northern VA, MD, WV area, I'm curious myself, so tag for reference.

I don't know about camping, but Calvert Cliffs is pretty good if you want to do some hiking and rucking. It's good P.T :)

Canaan Valley is just about as good as it gets in the region.

The AT runs through VA and MD, always good hiking possibilities there. I've done a good section of the AT in MD. Nice trail for the most part, no where near as nasty as PA.
