I have a M12 single-shot rifle I bought from the CMP. For target shooting out to 100-200 yards, is there one brand or type of .22 cal ammo better then others? I think it's .22 cal long rifle. Thanks.

The most accurate you can afford ;)
Subsonic is better. RF ballistics are a little bit different with lower BC's.
Start with quality brand subs then look at target ammunition and work your waaaaaaaay ($$$) up in price.
Not sure of the gun but sometimes a recrown will help a lot.

Every gun is different and will have its own preferences. That being said, I've had excellent results in several different rifles with Aguila Match Rifle and Aguila Super Extra High Velocity. Match Rifle stuff is priced reasonably and groups as well or better in my rifles than several high priced brands of match ammo. Super Extra is my favorite high velocity .22 round. It shoots great in everything I've tried it in. Pricing runs less than CCI Mini Mags.

I've shot the Match Rifle stuff out to 300 yards with satisfactory results.

Eley and Lapua are the two most popular brands used for short range benchrest. Considered the most accurate rimfire bullets on the planet. The upper end Eley EPS and Lapua Midas used in comp. will run you more than $10/box of 50
