It looks like Washington D.C is going to get hit with a blizzard tonight. 20-30 inches of snow with sustained winds of 20 mph.

I would like to see Al Gore shoveling the steps and driveway of the White House!! :D

Proof that Global Warming is real!

This is why they changed it to Climate Change.

If it gets colder its because of Climate Change, and they were right. Reducing carbon emissions works, and we need more "change" to keep the ball rolling.

If it gets hotter its because of Climate Change, and they were right. Reducing carbon emissions hasn't gone far enough, and we need more "change" to turn things around.

They've created a win win situations for themselves so no matter what happens they are "right".

I don't give them a free pass on this "climate change" bullshit.

They ignore real scientific research, paid for the data they wanted, rammed "global warming" down our throats, lied, blackmailed and cheated. They can't rename it to "climate change" now because that's not what they sold us. They have to live with global warming. They invented it (much like the internet) and they have to sleep in that bed.

Somehow I got on Gary Bauer's daily email list. (I don't get off it because he sometimes has interesting or insightful things to say)

Today he said this about the storm:

"
Storm Coming

No, I am not talking about war, economic collapse or revolution. I am talking about a STORM! Washington D.C. is right in the bull’s eye of a gigantic winter storm that’s expected to dump 24 inches or more on the nation’s capitol today and tomorrow. This global warming mocking, Al Gore humiliatin, weather system is going to cause the federal government to shut down four hours early today, and it may prevent the federal government from even opening on Monday. God works in mysterious ways!
"

---

from a purely scientific standpoint, increased snow could be an effect of "Global Warming" since it supposedly would mean more water vapor in the air and hence more rain and snow. However, that sort of thing is caused by many other weather phenomenon and effects as well.

If we set aside the normal warming and cooling cycles of the earth (something that the global warming moonbats continually ignore) the basic argument is the earth's temps rise with an increase in CO2. Core ice samples taken in Antarctica have proven that over tens of thousands of years that CO2 levels rises with the increase in temperature, not the other way around.

Snows like this happen with the earth’s natural cycles. We had a major snowstorm in this area back in 89 a full 21 years before Gore and his cronies invented global warming and if an increase in snowfall was a direct result of global warming we would have had dozens between now and then.

I do have to give them credit; even with doctored up "data", hacked emails and just about everyone thinking they're crazy as hell the continue to push this on us. If nothing else they are persistent! :D

disclaimer: I am on your side with regards to "climate change"

However, global warming is not just about increased CO2. It is also about an increase in a more potent greenhouse gas -- water vapor. (The climate change models they use have this increased water vapor taken into account). Increased warming (for whatever reason) they claim will lead to more water vapor in the air which leads to more or heavier rains and snow. But as I said there are lots of other non GW reasons for heavier rains and snows as well as lighter rains and snows.

I'm with you bro. But the whole basis for their argument is (or at least was until it was proven wrong) that an increase in CO2 leads to an increase in temperatures. That is why they've gone after carbon dioxide, created this carbon credit bullshit and are trying to create a new industry around CO2 (of which Al Gore and his buddies have massive financial interests).

Started shortly after noon here in da' 'BURGH - we've got a good 3" of peace, love, & joy global warming crystals (formerly known as, "snow") right now, and it's falling between a 1/2" to 1" an hour - should have about 12" total when done.

I needed some sinus pills today, and the local grocery store was being mobbed. I'm a Tarheel native - you think the locals here would have dealt with snow before. Oh well - went to Rite-Aid - the store was empty. :D I'm in for the weekend now!

This reminds me of an old joke back when the Clintons ran the show:

President Clinton wakes up to a beautiful winter morning. The sun is shining, the air is crisp, and there is a light blanket of snow on the ground. He stretches and goes to look out the window at the snow-covered White House lawn and sees the words "President Clinton sucks" written in pee in the snow.

Clinton gets all upset and calls White House Security. He tells them he doesn't care what it takes, but he wants to know who did this.

The Chief of Security returns in a couple of days to the President and tells him that he has good news, bad news, and real bad news. "Ok," says Clinton, "give me the good news first, then the bad news, and then the real bad news."

The Chief says: "The good news is after taking analysis of the pee, we know who the culprit is." Clinton nods and the Chief continues: "The bad news is the culprit is Vice President Gore." This really upsets the President, but he controls his anger and asks the Chief to tell him the real bad news. The Chief of Security swallows and says, "It's in Hillary's hand writing."

:D

People around here are such ****in pussies! You couldn't turn on the news the past 3 days without hearing them talk about the "catastrophic snow storm of biblical proportions." The grocery stores are completely out of milk, bread, water, eggs, etc. If I didn't know any better I'd thing the world was coming to an end. It's just snow people, stop acting like babies and deal with it. And they act like this when we get only a few inches, the schools close down if they are just calling for a chance of some flurries, ridiculous. As for me, I'm waxing up my skis.

Yeah that guy who created the Interweb also created Global Warming. I just went around to the back of my house to clear the snow so that I could get the door open and clear off the deck near the gas fireplace exhaust. The snow walking around the house was half way up my thigh. It's crazy. They've plowed our street a few times but haven't touched the street behind ours.

21" here. I spent about 18 hours in my tractor clearing drives.

Didn't make much $ at it as most of them were old folks who I didn't feel right about taking a fifty from. Did get one of their grand-daughters phone numbers though :D (Yes they are old enough to have grandkids in their 30's).

Cleared a state route on the way to my sister's house as it had drifted over.

Funniest part I saw was my dog jumping off of the porch and sticking right where he landed in the drift. Major canine WTF look going on.

That's only because they do.

Helped dig out some folks that live by me who own a 4wd Explorer. That truck'd do fine on the roads in their current state, but they have low-profile tires on the damned thing and can't even make it onto the neighborhood street leading to Jeff. Davis Hwy. When I and the Marine that lives next door to me (he was helping dig) asked as to why they just don't get the right kind of tires on it, the chick's response (note that the dude didn't roger up in regard to what is reported to be HIS truck) was to say, "Then we'd have to get rid of the rims. You can't have nice rims if you have big, knobby tires on."

We'd just dug her out when she couldn't go and had no plans to attempt going anywhere. I couldn't say anything to that, it was so idiotic. My next-door neighbor is from deeper parts of the south, and said, "Bless your heart," before stalking off, which anybody that's been around knows is what a Southerner says instead of saying "Go f- yourself."

We only got about 8" in central Jersey. So I was out and about Saturday morning. Nothing major. Made it home just fine with my new lower before the snow even started. lol

As far as driving fast and gassing it at every light... If I had my black car out and about, I would lol... No cats, 5.7Ltr, gets about 1/2 mile per gallon when racing, dumping raw fuel into the exhaust while idleing... very much an anti-global warming car.

When I was in school, taking a what is basicaly a mechanical engineering class which was mostly focused on HVAC. The proffesor [who was as left as left can get] asked us a question during a lecture about how buildings contribute to CO2 emmitions. He asked "If you could save $500 on the price of a new car by not having the manufacturer install catalitic converters on it, who here would"

I was the only one who raised a hand. LOL Needless to say I was aked "Why" and my answer was "Because one of my cars already has them removed and I do not see a problem with it" lol

Now they're calling for 10-20" more between Tu & We. We went without power since Friday and still have no cable/internet at home. I'm posting this from a frakking restaurant.

Both my wife and I had to cancel trips (her to New Orleans, me to a Paul Howe class in TX).

Our neighbors are freaking out and parking their cars in the middle of the road, which in turn has made it impossible to get the plow into the neighborhood. I volunteered to torch all the offending cars, but the home owners assoc. hasn't got back to me yet.

We have food and water. We have gas for the stove and the hot water heater. Things aren't that bad as long as we keep a fire going in the fireplace. But seriously, I can only do so many soduku puzzles before becoming homicidal.

Been very fortunate here in Fair Lakes that we haven't had any power loss as I hear Fairfax got the worse of the outages this weekend. Another 10" plus might be pushing our luck though. Riverine, I hope you have nicer weather in San Antonio than it has been this past week. Granted, I don't miss the 18" of snow in Ohio, but the weather here has been cold and rainy for the most part here, except for Saturday. With my luck, Ohio will still be getting blasted come this weekend when I get home, just in time for the weather to turn to spring-like for you down here. Such is my luck.

Hopefully, everything will be cleaned off and I can go straight to playing and sledding with my girlfriend's kids on the reservoir hill.

Our entire block was without power until early this morning so I stayed at my girlfriends place.

Hopefully we dont lose power again with this next storm.

Todd, I think this is one of those situations where it's better to seek forgiveness than ask permission with the HOA.

we got 23.5 here down around GMU. which was awesome because you could tell at what point all the college kids ran out of beer and decided to walk to the 7-11.

Hey Todd I could Sneak over and hook them up to the Jeep and tow them all in the middle of the night so the plows can get in do their job. Put them all in one bunch them push all the snow all up and around them. Then next time they will think twice about blocking the streets.:D:D
I hope you get your power on soon, I know the feeling back when IKE hit Houston were with out power for 13 days, I had a small genarator just big enough to run the fridge and a small window AC to sleep at night. By the time it came back on I was going NUTS....................
Things will get better.....the range will be open soon.......YEA!!!!!!

In Georgia, if they predict ice or snow, the grocery stores would soon be out of bread and milk.

i second THIS.. everyone freaks out if it gets below 37degrees. its pretty hilarious. love the south.

Day Two at the restaurant for internet access. We're being told cable/net will be fixed in our neighborhood on Friday if we're lucky. We're thinking about hitting a Verizon and getting one of their mifi gadgets.

We went out yesterday and got more food and supplies just to be on the safe side. We now have enough soup, bread, etc. to outfit a platoon.

Yup, another ~10" tonight. Remember when ten inches of snow in one day seemed like a lot for DC?

This is ridiculous...

If Al Gore concentrated more on inventing global warming and not chasing Manbearpig, we would not have to worried about 10' of snow...

Come on Al... Pick up the pace!

Just a little fun in it this past weekend. Damn close to 30"'s in Harford County Maryland. I'm a long time jeep nerd and a jeep sales person @ Adams jeep in Aberdeen MD. Ready for more of it tonight and tomorrow. I also have a vid or 2 on youtube.com of some of the wheeling and getting stuck we did. I'll have more when i get the other photos and vids from the people that were out with us. I'm the Rescue Green JK. The big black JK Wrangler is a customer of mine. We build them like that new under full warranty.

I would love a new 4 door Rubicon.
I sat in one at the DC auto show that came with 35s on it and had some wicked rocker guards and bumpers with a winch.

$38k :(

don't get me wrong the rubicon is a great jeep. the jk wrangler is a amazing ride and i have not been let down by my open diff stock jeep. i have put it to the test in many different terrain condictions. it is the best jeep made so far. i've driven them all from 1945 till now. you can get one of our builds a 2 door $30 grand and a 4 door 33 grand. you dont need the rubicon but if you wanted one i can build them however you want. i do a build 3-4 times a week.
this is my other jeep.
