Hey guys, I figured I'd stop lurking and start posting here.

I recently completed my first AR build going with a BCM upper and Stag lower and LPK. Bravo's an amazing company, and their shipping is some of the fasted I've dealt with.

Anyway, I find the A2 grip that came with my LPK one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever held. I choke up pretty high on the grip, and the bump digs into my ring finger. The grip is also far too small as I have pretty long fingers (I find Beretta's really comfortable to hold). Also, that little gap that is formed in the back with the stock trigger guard is also irritating. Especially when I'm doing a reload, which shifts the weight over to my strong hand entirely, while I'm handling the magazine with my left.

With the MIAD, I see that the front strap that has the integrated trigger guard has the bump built into it.

For those of you who also dislike the A2's bump, how does the bump on the MIAD compare? Is it any more comfortable? I'd rather not have to take a Dremel to it. I guess I could always order a trigger guard separately and use with with a smooth faced front strap, but I'd rather not place two orders if I don't have to.

It's fine IMO, MIAD is a big improvement. I did'nt like the A2 grip either. The MIAD's groove does'nt bother me, it's comfortable. I usually go with a seperate trigger guard. But used the MIAD kit's trigger guard on on of mine. I liked it enough, that it's still on my Carbine. :)

I have the full-kit MIAD, and I'm using the front strap with no bump. It's great.

I use a regular trigger guard and a $2.- "Gapper" to fill that irritating gap. Done.

There was a thread here not too long ago about the various MagPul trigger guards and which ones filled that gap best...

The MOE trigger guard is much easier to install than the Magpul Enhanced TG - based one of each I did recently. Either the roll pin is too large or more likely the hole through the enhanced version was just tight. I lubed it good but possibly should have used grease instead. Had to pound like hell to get it through and it's still not quite flush.

I think the enhanced might fill the gap slightly better, but I don't have gap envy so it matters not (to me). I like the rubberized Hogue PG (with finger groves), but some might consider them on the ugly side.

Unless you want to be able to adjust the backstrap to fit your hand, I find the MOE to be simpler and less expensive.

Thank you for all of the replies, guys.

I decided to skip the MIAD and order an MOE pistol grip and MOE trigger guard instead. However, that was before I checked back at my post here and saw the link to the thread discussing the gap issues on some models

I'm sure I'll like the grip, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see if I like the polymer trigger guard (since it still leaves a bit of a gap). I guess rob_s and I are somewhat on the same page as I can't understand why Magpul didn't just make that area on the MOE flush, completely, instead of just baaaarely leaving a little unfilled.

But, thanks again. Great place, indeed.

My post from a similar thread...

I didn't like the finger bump on my MIAD but wanted to maintain the uninterrupted trigger guard. A few minutes with a sanding belt mounted on a band saw and that annoying bump was history. I think it turned out well...
