Well I received the stainless carrier the other day. It's pretty slick and cycles super smooth. I also have the newer JP bolt as well. It uses a standard extractor.

One thing I noticed right off the bat were the gas key stakes. I want your opinion on this. One sides seems properly staked as pictured. My concern is with the opposing side.
It seems like the person doing the assembly either half-assed it or it was done on purpose.

Your thoughts?

The macro mode on my camera sucks. The side that appears barely staked is indeed staked but not to the degree of the opposite side. There is metal contacting the bolt head. Are two proper stakes going to hold the bolt in in a catastrophic event?

Staking looks fine to me. They use red-loctite too.

Thanks. You staked a Y/M NM carrier for me a while back and it was flawless. When I saw the "uneven" stakes on the JP carrier my jaw dropped. I didn't know if it was kosher. I can rest at ease now. Didn't know JP used red thread locker..
