Organized Political Lobbying

I got some good discussion and advice on the last topic I posted so if anyone is interested, here is the new resolution, Resolved: In the United States, organized political lobbying does more harm than good.

This one is far less interesting than the Afghanistan topic but I am sure some here still have strong views on both sides of it so lets hear 'em.

Lobbying is merely the expression of political interest on behalf of groups. The NRA is a lobby, for instance. The landed Barons of the middle ages were a group.

If you think lobbyists have "undue influence" you are foolish and don't understand our political system.

Since the Roman Senate, also expressed in the Magna Carta, groups have expressed the desire and right to have grievances addressed by the King or rulers.
