I need 3,000 rounds of .40s&w for the LEO portion of the police academy. The academy can sell me 3,000 rounds for about $760.00. I would prefer 180gr. Anybody know where I might be able to beat that price? I do not want Wolf or anything else that is not reloadable. Thanks for the help guys.

I would assume they would give you guys a better price than you would find on the street, but give these places a try:

www.ammoman.com

www.ammunitiontogo.com

www.georgia-arms.com

$760 for 3000 sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Best price I have found is at http://ammoman.com/index.htm, and they are about $1000 for 3000 of Privi

That's $.25 a shot and you just aren't going to get any better than that.

I've had decent experiences with both PMC and American Eagle. I generally buy from Palmetto State Armory (http://www.palmettostatearmory.com/40sw-ammo.php), because they are inexpensive and have always prompt and reliable.

Your quoted price is a good price, if you ask me. That's $12.66 a box.

I will also encourage you to purchase from the academy. $760 per 3000 is about $50 cheaper than any decent ammo I've found, and that's not including shipping. I purchase most of my own practice ammo, I would love to get it for $253 a case, which is what you're getting it for.

So nobody has some secret hook up they are willing to share with me? :D For the last 4 years all my ammo has been reloaded for me by my father in law at cost. He keeps all the brass for chamberings I don't have so it is worth it to him. The academy wont let me shoot reloads. Oh well. Thanks for trying guys.

You're Father in Law's loads are probably better than what you'll buy in factory ammo.

How strict are they on checking ammo?

I can say from experience, you obey your agency rules on the firing range......

It wouldn't be worth risking my job to save a few bucks. I really dont mind spending the money on ammo I will be training with, but it is money I had set aside for an H-1 :(
