Well you can feel Spring in the air, it was almost 40 when I went to work this morning, WOW.

So lets have a "Get together" in March on a Saturday, the 13th, 20th or 27th are the days I'm thinking about.

I'd like to get some input for a few rifle and pistol drills so we don't just have an ammo dump. Remember dry fire drills do alot for seeing if stuff falls off you gun or might look cool but sucks when you TAC up and try trans from the longgun to the pistol.
So get out your loc tight, blue works great, do an ammo count, we have a Canby and Vancouver gun show coming up for ammo, and other cool shit, and let me know what day will work.

Be safe.

The 20th or 27th would be great for those of us heading up to WA for the Tac shoots on the 13th.

I'm interested, but need to buy a bit more ammo before I commit... I didn't have a whole lot of ammo laying around before last weekend. :o Shopping around now though!

Cheers,
-Troy

i'm gonna go ahead and reserve a slot at CRPC for April 3. Jeff, if you want to set up for earlier in march, that'll space it out enough for people to recover money/ammo enough to hopefully attend both events.. but do whatever works

I'm interested, but not able to commit yet. Slight preference for the 27th, but the other days are fine, too. Glad it's going to be on a Saturday.

Down for the 20th.

USAFR
03-01-10, 15:45
Come on guys if it rains it will be a warm rain.

We will be working on the long range range, for us that means out to 200 yds.

Unless I hear otherwise we'll be doing some trans from rifle to pistol ( DRY FIRE) first and go to live ammo after everyone, the two of us, gets it down.

I have no idea how many rounds, I have about 15 mags, AR, so I'll load them up and call it good.

Pistol? I have about 6, G22, so I'll call that good as well.

Bring water, dress for the weather, targets, and your range grar.

be safe

Dang... I've got something planned already on the 20th. What time do you estimate you'd be "done" that day?

-Troy

P.S. I *JUST* got around to cleaning my gear from that first week of February shoot at CRPC!!

Hi Im not sure what time we will rool, but anyone can leave when they need to.

I'll be their close to 900 am, I'll be in a silver Dodge PU at the gate. There is a Black powder shoot on the pistol range so we will be on the rifle range.

Also a gun show in Portland that weekend for ammo if needed.

Bring ... targets ...

What sort of targets would be good?

USAFR
03-12-10, 10:01
That would depend, I hope to do some CQB drill, I have some zombie targets I'll let go for what I paid for them, but anything will work the sportsman has some hunting based T's so they would work as well..
If you need to zero a slow fire 100 yds would be good.

Hope that helps:cool:

Howdy! What time do you think you'll get started / wrap up? I'm 80% tentatively in for the 20th!

*edit: Also, any fees or membership required at this range?

I'm official in.

USAFR, do you expect that we'll be doing any drills at longer distances than CQB? Or is the 100yd stuff strictly for sight-in?

USAFR
03-16-10, 14:05
We can post targets out at 200 if ya want to, it's all good.

We can state with a warmup/Zero at 50 if needed then zero at 100 for rifle. Hope most of the guns are on and just a little beating with a big rock get the sights on. Remember if anything uses battries bring extras, theres a store a couple of miles down the road on the way in to DR for your last min shopping enjoyment, hell last time I looked they had a AR for sell.

As has been stated do some drills with the long gun/pistol, and watch the, what the hell do you call it, you know the place the what ya call it comes out of! The muzzle thats it, know where it is at all times, dont point it at anything your not willing to kill.

Get used to wearing your gear, Tac vest, holster/belt, H2O carrier, know where your mags are. Look at your sling, single point? two, three point, Ok I bad I had one of the sling mounts come undone from the rail, bummer almost dumped the AR in the mud.

Bring your gear, somthing to shoot at, NO we do not shot beer bottles at DR, so bring whatever targets ya want,

Questions, add ons or anything anyone wants to add is all good.

Be safe, and I'll be their around 8:30-9:00, the range is having a new member orientation on the 20 so the gate should be open that starts at 900 so lets meet at the gate and get signed in, $5.00 bucks range fee.

I get cell service at DR, my number is 503-481-9215, leave a VM if I dont answer and I'll get back with ya.

Im out for now.

As always be safe.

Well it looks like the weather is supposed to be very shotable, is that a word? O well. Cold in the am and warming so dress for it.

As i have said I'll be out between 830-900 at the gate, we will do the stack to get at the sign in.
Looking forward to seeing ya.
