The tires are real. Experimental design to save weight and be easily repaired/replaced.

Also, due to the obvious design, no way it'll run flat. Just a retread on a honeycomb rim.

Toyota Landcruiser FJ45 pickup, pretty rare in the US, but more common overseas. Can't tell by the pic, but they were made from 1965-1984, and I'm going to guess that one's in Australia because of the right hand drive. The FJ40 is more common here.

There's crocodiles in Africa too. Now if you said it was because of the croc and the white kid, I'd understand.

I'm joking around.

ZDL, my best friend in HS had a 1974 FJ40. We spent an entire summer during college driving around the backwoods of PA looking for a FJ45 that had been supposedly seen parked in a yard under some overgrown weeds. Never did find it though.

I used to drive those for years. I believe they still made them till 88 in some areas. I was in Botswana when the new body style that replaced that one came out (in Botswana that would be 89) I remember it well as everyone was really excited when they came in and then disappointed that the new models all had electric windows which leave you trapped if the vehicle gets washed away in a stream crossing. The best years of make (common bar arguments:p) were the 74 and 79 models as I recall. The last one I owned was an 83 model. I always felt they were underpowered.

I know there's white people in Africa, even outside of South Africa. They would be the ones getting persecuted in Zimbabwe.

Anyway, my friend's '74 model had a Chevy 305 V8 transplanted into it. Took care of the power problem. He ran 35 inch tires on it.
