Found this reading a different article all together.

From a different article.
"One platoon leader in the Red Army named Yakov Pavlov personally rigged a Stalingrad apartment building with enough landmines, rifles and mortars to hold off half the Nazi army. The building was under fire day and night and even had some civilians in the basement, but the fortress never fell. Pavlov himself picked off one dozen tanks from the beast."

Chuikov, the defender of Stalingrad, was later heard to comment that Pavlov's men killed more Germans than were lost in the fall of Paris.

LOL! I wonder if that could be true? Did you see that France was again named the best country in the world to live in?

"We all understand that action movies are cheesy escapism. After all, could one commando really take out a whole compound full of bad guys?

Actually, yes. It turns out the history books are full of stories of soldiers doing things so badass they'd hesitate to put them into a film for fear of killing the realism.

Having had the pleasure of being a child whose father was stationed in near by Belgium at the time we did have the opportunity visit Paris as well as many other European cities. It is actually a very nice city if you consider the architecture, culture, and society from a view point other then that of the post WWII typical American, provided you can learn to lift your nose to anyone who doesn't, at minimum, pretend to speak French.
