I saw on Troys website that they have a new upper with a 16" hammer forged and NiCorr lined barrel. Anybody see one of these or know anything about them?

Syracuse Heat Treating *NiCoRR (http://www.syracuseheattreating.com/services/pop-nicorr.htm)

NiCorr is low temperature nitro carburizing treatment (FNC) followed by an oxidation/impregnation phase. NiCorr imparts excellent wear resistance, increased yield and fatigue strength, lubricity, and corrosion resistance.

We offer a variety of NiCorr treatments depending on the finish and corrosion resistance required. NiCorr-C leaves a hard, low microfinish, black corrosion resistant surface capable of resisting 360+ hours of accelerated salt spray as tested per ASTM B117. It competes favorably with Chrome and Electroless Nickel Plating.

Economic Considerations:

* Minimal distortion: done in the finish machined and ground condition applicable on all ferrous materials - increased wear, fatigue, yield properties may allow low carbon materials to be substituted for more expensive materials without loss of performance.
* Plating is eliminated: saving cost of plating, transportation time. NiCorr is environmentally benign.

I'm surprised Troy hasn't put out more info on these. There was alot of stuff I heard about Troy from SHOT but no one mentioned these uppers.
