so what would it take outside of the can? a new barrel with threads? oh and has anyone seen a square silencer to go with the glocks styling?

Not mine but belongs to a friend. G19 with threaded barrel and Advanced Armament Evo9 suppressor. Talk to Mark at www.politesocietyinc.com , he'll fix you up since you're in GA.
No square suppressors in 9mm yet.
actually i have a glock 23 and i figured i would start with the barrel since the can is going to be expensive i have to wait till bonus for that :p oh and i'd rather buy out of state to avoid taxes when possible
buy what out of state? you don't pay sales tax on suppressors.
you just pay the government NFA tax.
Oh I just saw that you have a .40. You don't want to suppress that.
You should buy my TopGlock 40-9 barrel and then buy a 9mm suppressor...
You will see a pic of my Glock 21 outfit in the SBR thread.
I went with SWR suppressors in 22lr and 45acp.
I would suggest finding a suppressor vendor, you like and a Class 3 dealer. Once you get those lined up, but everything at once.
Surefire made a prototype, when I called several months ago they said no plans for it.

AAC has the Blackbox and plans to sell it sometime this year, we'll see.

They are both .45 cans.
Shark- you are wrong. Robert was the first!

why not?
9mm is much better for suppressing. Or at least I thought it was.
You will end up wanting to reload which is what I'm about to pull the trigger on this weekend.
Researching loads right now.
i thought the H&K 40 which i also thought was used by special forces was silenced for special ops, it comes with a threaded barrel. but i dont know, i've always been around guns and owned them but i'm not an expert by any measure
I know there is a threaded 9mm and 45 with raised sights.
Don't know about the .40. I just think of the 40 as being a middle of the road waste anymore, no offense.

none taken. in my opinion 9mm has the stopping power of a 22
sheeeeeiiiiiittttt...
You're one of those guys...
You are still living in 1996 where the 9mm won't stop a mouse and the .40 will stop an elephant. If you want to call a round weak, I'll insist your 23 can't stop as well as my 32.
Realistically, you won't need to "stop" anything while your suppressor is mounted.
If you think you will you have problems.
Like I mentioned, I have a G32. I needed a threaded barrel. I chose to go with a 9mm conversion barrel because the G32 will fire 9mm no problem.
If you want to waste .40 rounds at the range, be my guest. You won't get your money's worth out of the suppressor AFAIK.
