I had pretty much decided on the Noveske. I went to a local dealer and held one but not the model I wanted they had a 16" Recon 5.56mm Rifle with VIS with a gas switch block. It was nice. Then they handed me the LMT and it felt very good in my hands. The price seemed pretty good @$1500. I then compared it to a 6940 and I liked the LMT much better and the rails were more "compact" than the 6940. So here I am asking you the experts. Should I consider the LMT as it is in stock and I'm not sure how I'll like the feel of the Noveske w/o holding it. Compared to the Noveske I liked the feel of the LMT a bit better although it's not the model I'm looking to get. The price difference is about $500 between the LMT and the Noveske I want to order.

One of my concerns is comparing the LMT and Noveske on the "Chart". The LMT has the AR15 BCG. The rest not in blue part of the chart does not seem to apply to this LMT with the excetpion of the buffer which I guess both can be upgraded for not a lot if you even think it needs to be upgraded.

I prefer the mono upper of the LMT and I also prefer the SOPMOD stock. I also like the quick barrel swaps and caliber change with the MRP system. LMT for me when comparing those two rifles. There are plenty of other Noveske rifles that I would love to own though and his rifles are top notch.

From what I can research the price seems right on the LMT. Anyone care to comment on the price? I think I'm gonna go pick this up today.

Both are nice. I love the two LMT MRPs I have. Here are a few pics of my 16"...just had the barrel re-contoured under the handguard and dimpled in front of the gas block.

Noveske would be the choice for me.

I ended up getting the LMT. I liked how it felt in my hands. It was $500 less than the Noveske I was looking at and that was before some options I would have gotten. It was in stock. It has great reviews on both the Manufacturer and the actual rifle. I really like the idea of the quick change barrel and possible piston barrel add on. It even comes w/ a decent torque wrench and torx socket. Bottom line is it just looks damn good. I bought a Magpul AFG for while waiting for the BG check to come in. I still want a Noveske and I will get one when the wife forgets about this purchase.;) She said she was putting me on a gun furlough. Can't blame her as this is the 5th gun in the last month and a half. Although one of those was for her. She didn't ask for but I got it for her anyway. At least that's how I tried to justify it to her. Here's some pics.

Have two LMTs and one Noveske. They are all awesome guns. I would have saved the 500 also and use it on ammo/optic. Have fun. FYI, the torque wrench that comes with the LMT MRPs are not the greatest.

MRP without a doubt.

ETA: well done. I have an AFG on mine, too. It's my preferred 5.56 system.

Well done! The AFG works nicely on that rifle. Enjoy your new rifle.

I have an LMT MRP CQB and am pretty partial to it, so I say the MRP, but you can go wrong with either one. I personally like to be able to swap barrels quickly.

Well done, Colo.TJ, I believe you made the right choice. The LMT CQB has features no other manuf. offers at a very reasonable price, from a top tier manuf. I love my CQB! With the $500 you saved, you can buy ammo, an Aimpoint with LaRue mount from LaRue's site or pay for a carbine class! Noveske's are top notch and their accuracy is second to none, but you probably won't notice the accuracy difference in a real-world/training environment... more of a bench-rest situation. ;)
Now go out and shoot the fire out of it!

The Accuser: Who did the work on your LMT barrel? ADCO mayber? I love the dimple modification. I'm looking at having my CQB barrel recontoured to a lighter profile, but that dimple mod looks great.

Yep, ADCO did the work. I sent them my 10.5" the other day to be dimpled. If I could have a redo with the 16" barrel I would have had them dimple under the handguard instead of recontour....I didn't know dimpling would shave off so much weight. Still I love it and hope to get to the range this weekend to do some plinking.

Do you think the dimpling takes off more weight than turning the barrel to lightweight profile, or about the same? Thanks for the reply, I'll be contacting ADCO soon.

Probably close to the same. I was pretty amazed at how much lighter the 16" turned out. I would expect the 10.5" to be back this time next week. I will update you how that turns out.

The LMT CQB MRP Defender Model 16 is selling for $1499 locally here in South Georgia, I'm wanting one badly!!!

How secure are the 'built in' quick disconect sling swivel attachment point? I would want to run a two-point sling on this carbine. Plan to use it for a varmint/hog hunting gun.

I'm thinking of putting a Nikon 1-4x20 w/German #4, in a LaRue mount on the MRP, and living happy ever after.

Never had a issue with mine. I use the BFG QD swivels with Vickers padded slings...
