Purchased it from the Firing Line in Aurora, CO. Richard, the manager, is a class act. Price $ 909.00

WOW! Very nice dude.

I wonder why we're not seeing the P30S in 9mm as well?

Does the safety lever also decock? I see the P30/P2000 style decocker located on the rear of the frame/slide I'm just curious if the safety lever also decocks.

It is on the back, left of the hammer. I would have preferred it with the thumb safety, similar to the USP.

Can you get your thumb on top of the safety while shooting, like a 1911, and if so, how does it shoot like that? My concern is that the safety is too far back to keep my thumb on it and shoot comfortably.

I'm also wondering why they released the 40 and not the 9 yet??? Does anyone have an idea of when the 9S will release? My wife owns the P30LEM, and I was hoping to pick up the P30S. Any feedback would be great.

Per the following, the 9mm does have a variant with thumb safety: http://www.hk-usa.com/civilian_products/p30_general.asp.

Shooting it today, the thumb safety did not feel too far back - the placement felt perfect considering my Wilson CQB and SA MC Operator.

Dear God that thing is beautiful.

How do you like the DA/SA trigger on that one ? Also do you plan on carrying cocked and locked or de-cocked ?

I'm collecting my pennies for a P30S 9MM as soon as they get here.

Just put my money down on a 9mm version today. The guy said they have been flying off the shelves. It was love at first grip for me (on the .40) so I can wait to shoot the 9mm.

Most likely I will carry it decocked and then locked, given the DA is very smooth.

I have a P30 and P30L in 9. Can anyone compare shooting the .40 to the 9?

VERY nice catch. HK P30s are quickly becoming my "recommended" combat handgun.

Thanks - a co-worker convinced me to give a try. I am thus far ecstatic with it. Not so much with the prospects of buying mags anytime soon...

Great point - I have looked at several indicating P30; however, I would imagine the slide is wider on the .40. I plan to email Comp-Tac to ask whether their offering includes the .40.

I've not examined a .40 P30, but the external slide dimensions on my .40 P2000s are identical to my 9mm ones. The slides are heavier, but the differences are internal.
