As the SBR project comes together, decisions on an appropriate lightweight weapon light and mount are in order.
For reference, I've had good luck with the Surefire G2LED / VLTOR Offset mount combo on the GP carbine (Noveske N4 FSR Carbine w/ 14.5" barrel and their 9.5" rail). The ability to mount the flashlight next to the FSB allows for my hand to position a little further out on the rail than a 7" rail and the 14.5" barrel length precludes the bezel head from being exposed to any muzzle blast when shooting. The SBR is going to have a similar rail set-up, however the muzzle is closer in with the 10.5" barrel length. I've been impressed with the Novatac EDC 120T flashlight in terms of light output and U/I for its size and weight, and carry one in lieu of the Surefire E2D I previously EDC'd. I was contemplating the Novatac with the Gear Sector Offset flashlight mount (Pictures from the Gear Sector website):

Total weight looks to be 4.5oz (Mount 1.4, Light 3.1 w/battery). I like the way it appears to tuck in pretty close to the rail - does anyone have this set-up? The SBR will be suppressed most of the time and take over the HD role from the GP carbine. Since it will have the can, the length of the light is a little less important, but the mount position is the same at the end of the rail, except at the 1:00 o'clock position (lefty long gun shooter).
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Pk
