I want to get a handful of 6" Israeli bandages and wanted to know who would be a good source of these for a fair price. Thanks.

Mike G, a site sponsor at Austere Provision Company, has the OLAES 6" bandage at a good price.

A lot of people (myself included) like the OLAES better, as it provides better compression than the Izzy.

Wound packing and compression are your friends, right? And why not help a site sponsor. :D

Good luck, and may you never need them for real.

I see, I'll look at those if they are preferable and it's at a price I can go for. I'm just starting out setting up my med gear and thought until I can learn about the proper use of med gear, I better just start with the basic stuff(bandages and the like) instead of buying a pile of stuff I don't understand.

I've never used OLAES, but I'll have to check them out.

I currently buy my ETD's from Chinookmed.com.
They have 4" and 6".

Mike G sells the very economical Olaes training aid bandages , as well as the real ones. Makes training a little less expensive.

We started with Izzies from chinookmed.com as those were what was used in the course we took. Mike G persuaded me to try the Olaes bandages in this thread. (http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=41759) They have on-board packing gauze, a pressure-focusing cup, and plastic wrap for an occlusive dressing in addition to what has been stated above.

I subsequently asked if he could stock the training version and he did. (http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=45001)

For the price its worth buying an extra of whatever bandage you choose to train with.

In addition, my philosophy is to buy one of each of each of the popular bandages, Oales, H, Cinch Tite, Izzy, Ace Wrap & Gauze, etc. to have to practice with. You never know what someone may throw to you if you decide to render aid to a injured person. Imagine an incident at a local match with numerous M4 guys in attendance, I can see the care provider being bombarded with every type of bandage currently sold.

Nothing wrong with any of the bandages mentioned. I like the Oales and H bandages but still have izzy's in the hunting trucks.

Chinook has always been good to me, excellent customer service. Austere Provisions looks to be a VA company, I'm always interested in supporting the homies.
