I've looked but so far I am scratching my head and am hoping that someone can help. I am looking for a M16/M4 type of pouch, but it would be used to hold something else work related (a hand held laser distance meter). The current laser I am using fit in a drill holster, but the new laser is a lot smaller and will fall through the opening in the bottom. The type of pouch I am looking for would have to sloppily hold the laser (so I can get it in and put it back very quickly and eaisly) but hold its form (so it doesn't collapse / kydex lined?) and have some sort of retention strap / flap for travel use. The pouch would sit on a standard nylon duty belt. Any suggestions? Should I be looking at a 2 mag pouch or a small dump pouch?

The dimensions of the laser are 1-1/4" deep x 2-1/4" wide x 5-5/8" tall
The dimensions of a 30 rnd Pmag are 7/8" deep x 2-1/2" wide x 7-1/2" tall.

I know this is a weird request, but any help would be appreciated. Like I said, I am scratching my head.

I've had this small pouch in my spare parts box for quite a while - came with my iShot range bag. It's ~3"x6" with a plastic hook and draw string.

Probably need a better form of retention, but you're welcome to it if you want to try it...

Check out Lowepro--they're a camera bag company (HH6 keeps her D90 in a Lowepro case) but since they make lens cases, they might have something that would work for your rangefinder.

THIS CASE FROM TACTICAL TAILOR (http://www.tacticaltailor.com/85seriesopticalhardcase.aspx) might also work and since it's a hard shell, it would probably protect the rangefinder better than a soft/bag-type case would.
