Does anybody know who makes these or where I can get my hands on one?

Colt makes them and you can get one on a 6940. That's it as far as I know.

I've heard rumors that Colt will sell parts on its website soon or later...maybe they'll offer that FSB as well

The YHM flip-up may be better anyway.

Why do you think that?

that looks pretty good(if you like flip up sights) it's pinned on which i think is a must... here's a link

The YHM piece is a bolt on, the Colt unit is pinned on.

I'd trust the colt version to stand up to more abuse.

Only with the rifle. It would require the use of a 6940 gas tube also. Getting it fit on a barrel could turn out to be a little pricey too.

I only like the YHM better than the Colt because it locks. I didn't know that pinning was better but you're probably right.

I like the GG&G but it's a little pricey even though they install it for the included price. Shipping would add more $$ to the cost.

I didn't realize a pinned sight would be so hard to do yourself.

I noticed Colt makes a .22 rimfire AR parts.

They have a front flip up you can buy here.

I just assumed it wouldn't work on a 5.56 rifle but I looked at one closely at my gun shop and noticed there's a hole for a gas tube. You can see it in the pictures.

Just by chance, I found a gun on botachtactical.com that was advertising a stock on a Noveske gun but looked close at the front sight and it looks like the Colt.

There are the recesses on the side and it looks like the sight lock on the top is sticking up.

That got me interested in finding out if it's possible. The shop owner is supposed to find out for me with his micrometer if the barrel diameter on the Colt .22 will work.

That front sight is a KAC unit. Just as hard to find as Colt and very pricey.

It sure does look like a KAC sight they have in their catalog mounted on a KAC SR-16 weapon but when the sight is shown separately, it is a clip on, not the gas block model. Very similar if not identical to the Colt .22 sight.

The Colt .22 flip up rear sights are just like the KAC models also.

By pricey I was thinking around the $200-$300 range.
I just got an email back from MSTN and the quote they gave me was $415 for the sight and $125 for the taper pin install. The GG&G is looking better and better.

I could get a damn Troy floating rail, gas block, and flip front, add some elbow grease and I'll still have some change to spare.

I have the YHM flip-up sight on my AR15. It clamps to the barrel with screws. Not the best set-up IMHO. I'm replacing mine because it rotates.

Please do some web research before making any purchases from botachtactical.com

Here is a good starting point right on this board

I believe Umarex makes the parts for the Colt 22s. Umarex obviously makes a clone of the KAC front flip up- that's all that sight is- a clone. Who knows if it's quality or not.

I'm guessing KAC doesn't charge an arm and a leg for no reason- probably got something to do with quality of internals or mechanism and I'd bet for $95 you aren't getting that quality.

If it IS quality, I'd sure like to pick one up!
