Hi, I was just wondering If anyone has any experience with mounting a surefire tape switch to the side of the lower receiver at the bottom of the mag well just above the lip at the bottom. Directly below the ejection port. It fits perfectly, I just don't know how secure it will be with velcro.

If you don't mind me asking, why would you want to do this?

I ask, because there are much better options for mounting a tape switch, if you must have one.

What light are you using?

I like to hold the rifle by the mag well. I've never really liked having a foward grip on my rifle. I was also thinking about the tango down rail covers with the pocket for the tape switch. I'm using a Surefire M951.

I am kind of a noob when it comes to an AR-15, and switch placement. Does anyone see any issues with the placement of my switch? I have placed it where it is most natural for me.

Other than it renders your safety almost useless, no... nothing wrong with it. ;):D

I'd stick to putting the tape switch out front, on the handguard myself.
