I would imagine that the .50 Beowulf case capacity would make for some very hot long range wildcats. Has anyone done this? I was thinking that with the VLD 6.5mm bullets out there that this would be a natural. I know mag capacity would be limited but it would probably feed as well as the Beowulf out of 5.56 mags.

The 50B case is about 0.13" longer than the 6.5 grendel with a rim diameter that is 0.005" wider. The base diameter of the 50B is 0.535" vs the 6.5Gs' 0.44". You could probably pick up a few grains more capacity, but a 6.5 BRX may be an easier way to go. The 6.5 BRX has a case capacity of around 43 grains (per www.bratrifles.com). I know Harrison at AR15Performance has done some work with this and probably has better performance numbers, but I would guess it will give you 100-150 fps over the 6.5G. Interesting idea about the 50B though.
