Aimpoint M Series lenses....

Ummmmm.....yeah. I just read online somewhere that Aimpoint outfits theirs optics with PLASTIC lenses. Is this true? How might this affect clarity and damage to the lenses? Don't get me wrong, I understand they're built like tanks. But plastic lenses? Somebody PLEASE put my mind at ease. I just ordered an ML3 w/ cantilever from LaRue. Thanks...

They have plastic lens COVERS...

The lenses are decent quality multi coated optical glass that look pretty red on the front.
