What is the advantage/disadavantage of 18T vs. 51T? Do they both work with the same cans or are there specific cans for each? Any info would be great. Thanks.

18T is for the AAC M4-1000 can. The 51T is for the AAC M4-2000 can.

Performance wise, both should be the same.

They are for specific models.

18T uses a double spring in the mount part of the can to prevent the silencer from unscrewing. It's currently used on the M4-1000, the 762-SD, and the SCAR-SD.

The 51T mount is also called the "Ratchet Mount" and it has a spring-loaded lever with ratchet teeth that engages the finer teeth on the 51T mount. It's currently used on the M4-2000, and similar models.

Basically, the 51T eliminates any chance of the silencer unscrewing - unless you press the ratchet latch and turn. Both are solid and both are rated for full-auto use.
