Old timey jet boil :D
I just picked one up (SS version) as part of a camping/SHTF/emergency @ home kit. I like the fact that you can burn regular wood etc for fuel.Seems to be a pretty good way to boil the nasties out of water and cook a small bit of food. Anyone have experience using one?

I don't own one, but have used one belnging to a friend several times. It's an awesome piece of kit. I'm planning to buy one very soon, just haven't seem to have gotten around to it.

It boils water quickly and does a great job when cooking small meals. Works great for carrying extra water also, which offsets the amount of room it takes up in a pack. I also like that you don't have to carry fuel for it.

Did you use the SS version or the regualr alum. version?

The one I've used is aluminum. It's important to remember that you must have water in the chimney when using it. I'd imagine that goes for the stainless one also.

Does anyone have a preference between the ss or alum version? I asume the ss is a little heavier, but is it worth it for durability sake?
