View Full Version : KAC SR15 IWS E3?
Being mostly an AK guy I am fairly new to the AR and I just discovered the KAC SR-15 IWS E3....I'm in love!!!! I cannot afford to just go get one right now but I really want one....I own two Colts a 6920 and Sporter that has been unbaned into an A2 clone. One option would be to sell BOTH rifles and I might have enough to buyt the SR15...I am torn on this but I would really like to have a high-end AR, and the SR15 sure fits the bill.... I really like the ambi receiver, the SOPMOD stock...well, in fact everything about this rifle.....I would appreciate any thoughts you fellows might have on this.

sell your car to fund it. biking's good for your health too. :D
We have only one truck...if I had a spare car I would but I sold that to buy a house.

I love mine. I haven't had a chance to really run mine hard yet, but the fit and finish are excellent and it has a lot of extra features compared to other options (ambi lower, URX rail, etc.). If you are LEO/MIL KAC offer's a nice discount if that helps. I think they sell the E3 uppers and lowers seperate now. If you want to start slow you can. Hope this helps.
Sell the Colts and get the SR-15 E3. You wont regret it.
The E3 uppers and lowers are available separately, so you could always get one now and the other down the road.
I'm not mil or LEO so no discount for me :( How much are the lowers? and who has them? I looked in GB and found complete rifles for about $2,100.00 but no lowers or uppers by themelves...Of course I will need an ACOG for it I guess.....there's another $1K right there  oh well you have to pay to play I guess.,..
You won't regret it if you get one. So far no problems with mine, haven't run it very hard yet but it eats everything I feed it. Don't know if I would sell both of the Colts but maybe sell one to help offset the cost.
They are super nice, the only thing I wish they had was a piston system. I almost got one but went with a SCAR...
At the risk of sounding like a heretic...I don't much care for piston ARs...If I want a piston I'll use one of my AKs....I for one like the DI system of the ARs, plus it keeps it light as compared with the added weight of the piston. But I digress, I still need to figure out the best way to get my hands on one of these....

The lowers are around $750 and the uppers are around $1450
Any KAC dealer can get them for you.
I would recommend Wes at MSTN mstn@comcast.net
Casey Seng at Lawmen's cseng@lawmens.net
or Neil at Gun Gallery 904-641-1619.

I got mine from Wes. He installed a MIAD and QC comp on my carbine.
Doesn't the KAC SR15 IWS ES come in Dark Earth Brown?
I am saving for mine! I'd like a field repair kit for it as well. Though I lost the link about what it costs. I think it's just the extractor springs and extractor.

Yes they do, but only as complete rifles. I would check with G&R, lawmens, Neil @ Gun Gallery and Florida Gun Exchange for the taupe rifles.
I e-mailed Grant but he is out of them right now

What about the other two? You could also check with Knesek / Thor, but some folks have had mixed results with them. I have had nothing but success with Grant, Neil & the folks at Florida Gun Exchange.
