I'll be traveling w/ my BCM M4 in a few weeks. After reading some threads about traveling w/ firearms, I'm considering purchasing a larger duffel style bag to place the Pelican 1700 (containing my M4) inside of. Is this a good idea or too much?

It just seems to me that a large tan Pelican 1700 screams, "I'm a rifle, STEAL ME."

Any recommendations for a large bag that'll contain a Pelican 1700?

I use the Storm 3100 which is similar, long, and thin. I slapped a couple of stickers on it that said "Trade Show Display, non-functioning polycarbonate hydraulic buffer Do Not Inventory." With a fake company name, and logo on it.

Utter BS, but as if the bag throwers have time to figure it out in the few minutes they have with each bag.

When you delcare a firearm they treat your bags differently.

If you want to be covert, consider something that is an oddball size like a Pelican 1440. Just separate your upper and lower receivers and stack 'em in.

People will know your luggage contains valuable because of the big padlocks you have on it. ;)
