Would it be better to just go with the cheaper one?

One has an M4 profile barrel, and one is a heavy barrel (HBAR).

I'd get the M4 profile barrel due to the reduced weight...

and the hbar's got skinnier handguards

Ditto...except I'd save $200 more hundred dollars and get something that incorporates more quality.

I actually prefer the skinnier handguards though.

Warning: You are about to come down with "BRD"! (Black Rifle Disease)
If you don't get a better quality rifle now, (The first time around) you are just going to end up wishing you had got the "Better" one the first time. Otherwise you are going to spend 6 bills plus now, and later on another grand plus to satisfy that case of "BRD".

I've "BEEN THERE, DONE THAT" I just hadn't found this site first, and made the mistake of blindly buying what I thought was a good cheap buy. After finding this site, I did a LOT of research here and found the majority knew what they were talking about. All the bad qualities they talked about, I found in my "Cheaper" gun and began to understand the problems/safety issues with these lower tier guns.

ive got two of the HBAR DSC rifles from buds and they are well built and run just fine. no reason to get the m4 barrel unless you want the m203 cut or like the look.

PICS AND PROOF????? Never heard of this brand so I'm just curious to know if these are really built fine?

I mentioned this in your other thread...if you want something inexpensive to play around with, you might as well just get a CMMG bargain bin AR. You will get what you need, and then if your interest in ARs grow, you can step up to a top tier later.

You're within a few meals out, or a few tanks of gas, of a high quality gun. I'd suck it up for awhile and buy better.

there nothing fancy. im in the mid east now and there home so pictures will be a long time coming. finish is fine and they run. only have about 500 rounds threw each but its an entry level. i like them fine. they arent mil-spec but i would take one of these over an oly or shrubmaster

I would really listen to what the guys above have said. Saving money now usually ends up costing you in the long run. I did the same thing you are looking at doing. I just bought a Daniel Defense. I wish I had done some research and just bought it in the 1st place.

some people cant swing the price difference and there is no better way to learn than to build. i personally will never buy an assembled rifle. takes all the fun out of it. but if you get a cheaper model identify your real needs and upgrade.
