These are gaining popularity so I thought I'd throw up some pictures. I used the sight in the iron man 3-gun match and it stood up very well. I like it as well as the J-Point and the Doc Opt plus it has a few options not available on the other two, namely the on/off switch and the top access battery door. Also the sight has a replaceable aluminum hood. The down side is that it is slightly larger.

The ACOG mount I have is a PF and I think it is too large. It offers a lot of protection but is bulky and could stand to be redesigned.

These pictures are a little dated so if anyone wants anything specific just ask.

Very interesting.

It would give all the capabilities of the TA31DOC, but allow the end user to choose the ACOG model/reticule he wants.

That is primarily the reason I went with it and the TA31F. I also think mount is better than the DOC (even if it is bulky) and the PF actually supports the sight, Doc Op is MIA except for Trijicon..

Heres some pics of the prototype LaRue mount for the Pride Fowler sight. These pics were posted by MFingar on another site. Im thinking this sight in the LaRue mount would be perfect for my Benelli M1 S90 mounted on the new Mesa Tactical shell holder with integrated picatinny rail.

Nick,

I like that mount but it is going to be too tall for your Benelli. You need to get the lowest rail made for the receiver and one of the JPoint rail mounts.

Nitrox,

The LaRue mount in the picture is mounted on top of a LaRue QD 5/8" riser. The mounts will be offered in three different heights: M4 height to give a lower 1/3 co-witness when mounted directly to a flattop AR receiver, a low, and a medium (not sure on the exact heights yet). I have seen guys running Eotech's mounted directly to the rail ontop of M1014's without issues. This set-up with the lowest version of the LaRue mount should be lower than that. I'm thinking the lowest height should work pretty well, albeit somewhat of a compromise, but what isnt? I can deal with the additional height in exchange for the QD feature of the LaRue mount. If I can find a good quality, low-profile rail that can be mounted to the top of my M1 instead of the Mesa shell holder mount, I may go that route instead.

I understand it will work in the sense that it will mount and you will be able to fire the shotgun with it. However, the rail will block the ghost rings and the PF will be higher yet. I find the ghost rings to be decent height but anything over that will be a chin weld.

Here's some more pictures of the M4 Version.

I brought it to the range yesterday, and fired about 360 rounds with the mount in various positions, from the rear of the flat top, to the front and with the BUIS blade up and down positions.

At 50 & 100 yds, the dot reminded me of an M2 in performance, but in a small package. If you like the 4 MOA Aimpoint, you'll love this sight.. The BUIS, was easy to zero, and worked like a charm.

Are they still backordered?

PF is still out of them, but the owner did tell me that I am first on the list to get some.

I also stock the Dr optic version of this package if interested.

So what are the Pro's and Con's of each.

Well, I think both are quality. So it is a win/win situation.

The RR has a glass lens and a Alum body. So does the Dr Optic. The RR has the ability to shut it off with a switch has a "constant on" feature that makes the dot as bright as possible. The Doctor doesn't have any of these features, but has a longer battery life and is a tried and true optic that has seen a lot of hard use over the years.

Grant, do you have pics of the Doctor sight set up in a similar fashion?

Also, what is the cost range of these items?

I sure do have pics. It looks just like the LT Iron Dot setup. Cost on the package is $535.

LOL, don't like pink? Ya know, it takes a strong man to wear pink! :D

The mods/staff and IP's got a color to better ID them. I was upset that dealers didn't get anything so we got pink.

Becareful what you ask for!

A strong man...not what I was expecting to hear on a firearms related message board...strong is not the word for what it takes (or gives for that matter)! :p
