Evening,
There are four different versions of the X-Rest / AR-Rest:
X-Rest
X-Rest.Lightweight
AR-Rest
AR-Rest.Lightweight
The AR-Rest is taller to allow the use of a high capacity magazine. The structure of the shooting rest is made from powder coated 5052-H32 aluminum for extreme corrosion resistance. The pin, lanyard, mounting plate and screw are stainless steel for long life. The rifle stock is protected by rest bumpers made from EPDM (rubber-like material) that resists heat up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Assembly Instructions (http://www.montie.com/modules/info/files/files_4a059ce25bf4d.pdf) are available for download here (http://www.montie.com/modules/info/files/files_4a059ce25bf4d.pdf).

That's pretty cool, especially that "Lightweight" (skeletonized) version. Thanks for the additional intro-info!
Just don't use it like the guy in the first picture, who has his actual barrel resting on the x-rest. He's completely negating the purpose of that jp/vtac freefloat handguard.

I think you're mistaken... In the first embedded picture the barrel is not making contact with the rest at all.
In the verbiage on the AR rest, you really really really need to change "30 round clips" to 30 round magazines.
