To enhance my experience here on M4C, I'd like to view this forum at work. I just run into the small problem of having NSFW Avatars. I'm having to resort to browse through my iPhone.

Maybe a slight change?

Under user CP, choose options and disable avatars. Simple fix.

ah .. maybe I'll do that at work and when I get home enable it. That sounds good to me. I'll just make that part of my routine.

Cool - didn't realize that was an option.

I've had some problems with some of the avatars as well.

Me too, but it is easy to cross the line from classy to trashy. Personally I have not seen anything on this site that even comes close, but on other gun sights the line has been crossed. I really don't want M4C to get to that point.

Mind you I am just as much an admirer of naked women as any other red blooded American, but if I want to see porn I will go to a porn site.

We don't allow them to be too trashy, NCPatrolAR handles the avatar and photo police squad. It's generally his call.

If you see something that's a problem just let him, or me, know about it and we'll look about getting it changed - if necessary.

Just note that sometimes they will be fine and left unchanged.

Sure thing, but like I mentioned I really haven't seen anything on this site that is anywhere near "the line" yet.

No, the one I was thinking about was stripper in pink doing the "ass dip" or whatever you want to call it. Not that it isn't fun to watch, but not very appropriate for a firearms discussion board. It basically precludes me from browsing SH while on my work network which kind of sucks. I wouldn't see a problem with the one you linked to though.

I mean Irish and a few others have sweet avatars, but I think it's always classy and in good taste.

I remember once some years ago on TOS, Guy A had an avatar of a woman, filmed from her neck to her belly, walking down a market (?) aisle, bouncing provocatively.

Guy A was exchanging info with Guy B, and asked: Why haven't you responded?

Guy B: I can't. I'm mesmerized by your avatar.

it's avatars like that one that makes me love running FireFox and addblock.

If you see an image you no longer want to see just right click on it and block image. ;)

That HOFF pic is classic...it is the standard desktop for those who leave the common use computers logged on with their profiles and walk away ...:D
