VIN Number lookup

anyone know how to look up a VIN number??? i have a dirtbag in OK trying to buy a vehicle with my CC and it has been cancelled...any help on here would be greatly appreciated...i have traced it to a dead end and am in desparate need of finding out the who, what, when and where...

no dice, it's not stolen...its just stolen from me...if i'm the "responsible" party that "purchased" the vehicle, i would think that i could file it as a stolen vehicle but that doesn't work either...just gotta let these ****in' crackhead thieves do this kind of shit and enjoy the aftermath...

Have you spoken to the fraud division of your local PD? They should be able to provide any info you might need. If the locals can't help you the FBI will have answers for you.

from doing a google search, the VIN look up is only gonna work if it was titled and registered by the guy.

Apparently you can get the info from the DMV, but only if there is permission to do so from the owner, or LEO purposes.

yeah,

i am trying to stop criminal activity and cannot get the info i need...i got a call last night at 6:20pm to notify me of activity on my CC...i told the fraud division of the CC company that this was not my purchase and they shut down the card...$60.59 title search by experian used car division...

traced that to another transaction, got the VIN, traced that to sand springs, ok and the OK DMV won't give me any more info on the vehicle...i gave all of that info to both my local PD and sand springs, ok...

it's a friggin shame that i can't solve this without getting PD's involved until i absolutely needed them to arrest this piece of shit...i told the LT(detective) at sand springs just let me stomp a mudhole in the guys ass and walk it dry...he started cracking up and told me he'd do the same if it happened to him...

like i said, all i'm trying to do is find the dealership that has the vehicle or contact the last owner to figure out where the vehicle is and stop the transaction, then find out who's trying to buy it and then tell the PD that this is the person to go pick up...

i just hate to waste PD time on stupid shit like this...i just want to drop the guy right in their lap and say take care of this piece of shit...my brother and i had a buddy on a forum that was CHP but i don't even know the forum anymore...we found a burned vehicle in the woods while riding atv's and gave him the VIN, he tracked it down and we got the people busted for insurance fraud...and he was from california for cryin' out loud!!! but that was like in 2002 or so and i guess that this Drivers Privacy Protection Act bullshit stops people like me from calling this motherf^%&%er up and busting his balls...it's honestly a shame...

well I have found out its a 3.5L crew cab (4 door) ZQ8 (lowered suspension package with factory 18" wheels and low profile tires) 2WD.
Im trying to find out what color it is and last reported mileage.

I got that info from NADA, but they want money to buy the rest of the info.
I posted the VIN on a Colorado forum, and Im sure someone there will know more info on it.

There are 9 reports on this vehicle already.

If you get all the vehicle info, you could probably find out what dealership has it in OK.

I cant give you mileage but its a pewter (silver) crew cab with a 3:42 gearing, 60/40 split bench seat, keyless entry power everything. it was sold in Oklahoma, last time it was at a dealership was dec of 08 it had 24k on it.
