View Full Version : Should M4C have a "Home Defense" section?

I was writing a reply to The Katar's provocation about slings on HD long guns, and found myself thinking less about his question, and more about whether this site could benefit from a new section in the "PP&P" area.

I propose "Home Defense Scenarios and Preparations".

The reason I think "scenarios" should be included in the title is that every household is unique, and can change considerably from day to day. Scenario planning is a useful way of exploring potential futures from a given starting point. Who knows, maybe some more or less universal principles could emerge from the discussion.

I think that this has some merit. How about something like "Concealed Carry and Home Defense"?

I'll run it past the other staff guys.

I think this is a great idea. Think of it as consolidation of sorts. It would be great to have prep and law all in one place.

There are a lot of threads out there that I could pull into one section. Robb and I will bring it up again and advocate for it.

This is a good idea. This a very popular topic and consolidating this info into one new section would make it super easy find.

I think it'd be a very wise idea.

Because I've seen other boards flub it, I KNOW M4C would get it RIGHT! So I'll vote 'yes!'

I would really appreciate a well regulated and controlled area to discuss these topics as they are very near and dear to most of us.

indeed.. having a devoted sub-forum will invite discussion on the topic that may not have happened otherwise.

más uno.

Another yes vote for the " Concealed Carry and Home Defense " subforum concept. "Emergency First Aid " is an example of a relatively new subforum that has remained true to spirit of the old school M4carbine.net. I have been doing a lot of lurking and learning down there over the last year or two . Trauma First Aid had changed a lot and I needed a source of updated information from people who have current and relevant experience or training. "Emergency First Aid " covers the whole spectrum from tape or cutting tool choices to avoiding lawsuits.

At this point in time, M4C has subforums that can conceivably handle just about any topic we can imagine to discuss.

Home Defense is an obvious "Training and Tactics" issue and can be discussed there: http://m4carbine.net/forumdisplay.php?f=11

Thank you for the suggestion.
