Saw that Brownells is carrying them, and they have a new S30V fixed blade I'm kind of interested in. Normally just about everything Brownells carries is quality, but I've never tried a Blade-Tech blade.

Anyone have any experience with them?

Never seen this knife in person but I like the blade/ergo handle design. The materials seem to be top notch. I appears they have properly textured G10 and good gimping. All outwardly specs seem to be good. Hopefully you can find someone who has laid hands on this company's products to get the finer points. The most important questions though is what is your intended use for this knife (self defense? cool factor? etc.)

My most common use for this would be as a field knife (camping and hunting). I would not try to EDC this because fixed blades are an issue in some cities in my area (WA state), and anyway it's too large.

I would be curious to find out who else has owned a knife by Blade Tech, and what their experience has been with their durability and craftsmanship.

I too like the description of the materials, and the shape of this blade and the apparent ergos of the handle and cutting shape.

Just my opinion but I would want two separate blades for each of those tasks.. For a camping knife I would want something with a thick, heavy duty, full flat ground blade in the 9-10"+ range. with a shock absorbing handle. If you already have an axe or something to suffice as a chopper then picking up a hunting exclusive knife might be worth it. If not check out the Dog Father for bullet proof knife at a good price. http://www.scrapyardknives.com/knives.htm with a large knife like the DF I'd probably just take an adequate folder or skinner for smaller work as it will do far more for you than the blade tech.

If i was looking for a small fixed blade hunting knife, the street scrapper 4 from scrapyard would be a top contender. It's effective as a hunter but would suffice in many other roles plus you get INFI steel.

While I believe that blade tech would suffice as a hunting knife since it has a decent amount of belly its ergo's seem more akin to a "fighting" knife to me and certainly not a camping knife. Anyway I'm not trying to turn you off of it as I like the blade, these are just my opinions.
