I have one of these that was passed down to me. I have done some research and they seem to be a good little gun for what they are. I have one problem with it though. The magazine scrapes along the magazine release while inserting the magazine. This causes little shards of metal to scrape off. To get around this you press the magazine release while inserting the magazine. That said, this does not sound right. I think the problem may be solved by buying a new magazine? I was curious to know if anyone else has one of these with this problem and if anyone knows of a good magazine brand to go with.

Not really much you can do about that. Atleast it's just a worthless .25.

I have messed with a few of these and never ran across this issue. I do believe that Beretta still makes mags for it and those would be your best bet. Mag usually do run across the mag release, but its not normal for them to leave shavings.
