Glock pic thread (taken at McMiller sports center, I'm an employee there every now and again)

Glock 17, with the grip cut down to accept G19 mags.
The backstrap texture was completely smoothed down and the frame above and to the sides were also thinned down to maintain the original shape of the grip. This was done so the Hogue grip didn't significantly increase the circumference of the grip.
Glockmeister plug was reinserted, and the lanyard hole re-drilled.
I thought about stippling the gun, but I did my other Glock17, and it turned out really nice, however, I went back to the Hogue grip because I shoot better with it. I'll stipple it later, if I have the time, just to complete the look.

Killed two birds with one stone. First Glock, first 40S&W - a Gen2 G22 LE trade in. Cheap and boring but works great. Not much wear inside... I don't think this'll be the last, I hear a G23 calling!
I have lots of 9mils and 1911s so it was time to split the difference.

This wasn't my original idea. The first time I was ever made aware of the possibilities was when DocGKR mentioned it to me over a year ago. You get the reliability/shootability of a Glock17, with the concealment advantage of a Glock19 frame. I didn't get the courage to do this until I saw this thread on another forum. Mods, please delete the link if it is inappropriate to link to another forum (sorry).

I used blue painter's tape and taped a line off where I planned the initial cut to go. Used the Dremel with a cutting attachment and went at it. The initial cut didn't go high enough, and the G19 mag wouldn't seat, so I re-taped and went higher until I could get the mag to seat. Then I went up another couple millimeters to ensure that I could get reliable seating every time. Leaving that rear G26 style step was probably the most challenging, because if it wasn't cut just right, the mag didn't seat well, or it didn't drop free every time. I went very slow and test fit everything numerous times. You can't put it back if you remove it! The grip chop would have been much easier not doing the step.
The sanding wheel was used re-bevel in the interior of the magwell, reshape the rear flat of the magwell to allow for reinsertion of the Glockmeister butt plug, and I then used 1500 grit sandpaper to smooth the bevel. To get a more consistent flat surface for the bevel, i wrapped my wife's emory board in 600 grit sandpaper to smooth out the ripples left by the sanding wheel before the 1500 grit.

Well I picked up a new baby Glock this weekend. Glock 27, fail zero slide and barrel, and Ameriglo Night Sights. I quickly went to town with epoxy, a dremel tool, and soldering iron, also did a basic trigger job (waiting on new springs and connector to finish). Here she is, enjoy.

Nice, I just got an identical Glock 27 Post#1520 on last page. I havent been able to get it to the range yet but I love the dual tone and the properties of the Fail Zero.

Thanks...I used the 70-300 VR for that shot (300mm @ f/5.6). Been using a D90 for awhile and upgraded to the D7000 about a month ago. Pretty similar to what I was used to but I love it so far nonetheless.

I had Robar do my G23 a couple of years ago. Looks just like yours but with Trijicons and a NP3 job on the slide. That grip redux and texturing is simply the best work out there. Be prepared to show off that grip to friends and have them rave about how perfect it feels!
Robar makes the "nearly perfect" G23 an Absolutely Perfect Carry Pistol. Looking back, it was well worth the price.

Can't beat those baby Glocks Tuck. My G 27 gets carried the most since I'm a big .40 fan (on duty issue) and the weather in my part of the Stalag is hot a good part of the year. Enjoy carrying that 26. You just can't go wrong with a 26 or 27 for concealability and firepower.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with it so far. There was a little learning curve coming from my Sigs, but it wasn't bad. It'll be getting a supertuck holster here in the near future to complete my CCW setup.

This is a Bladetech, but very old and handmade by the owner/founder; Tim Wegner. I used to go to his house in Puyallup, WA where he would make me custom Kydex knife sheaths in his toaster oven... while I waited. He has come a long way since then. Bladetech still makes a version of this G26/G27 paddle holster.

http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/8449/sdc11263.jpg
*Trijicon "HD" (orange front outline) night sights.
*Grip Force Adapter
*Vickers Tactical slide stop lever
*White Sound Defense H.R.E.D. extractor spring/plunger assembly
*GlockMeister Gen4 grip plug
First range trip out showed some erratic ejection patterns with the factory extractor plunger/spring installed and some Winchester "WinClean" and Federal "Champion" fmj which are both known to be very low powered loads. I plan to run some of my duty ammo thru it (Winchester Ranger 124gr +p Bonded) to see how the ejection fares with the newly installed H.R.E.D. from White Sound.
Im really liking everything about this set-up in terms of ergos and pointability, etc. The Grip Force Adapter makes a noticeable (positive) difference in how the pistol points for me.
The only thing I may have done/modified on the grip is to have the trigger guard undercut & radiused a bit. Other than that this thing feels good.

My g19 with trijicon HD night sights Orange front, extended slide release, extended mag release, and g17 trigger bar. I did the custom work myself(as I'm sure you can tell lol) I under cut/rounded the trigger guard and undercut the beaver tail.grip reduction/stippling,and mag well cut outs. The pistol handles 100 times better. I'm glad I took the chance and did the work myself. It's a vary satisfying experience.(although if I had the money I would have sent it off to a real smith;)) the only other modification to this pistol will be maritime cups. It only has 1500 through it but it seems to function as It's supposed to but only time and a few thousand more round will tell.(gen 4 parts gen 3 pistol) the holster is a iwb/owb from kaluban cloak.

Hey guys I have a ? But didn'twant to start a new thread. What are the top smith's using to fill the cavity in the back strap with before they begin shaping it. I have seen few "bubba" jobs on u-tub but I want to use something that is durable, and intended for this use. If anyone can point me in the right I would appreciate it. Thanks

Thank you! It was my firts attempt at it. I must admit while grinding away at my frame with a dremel I stopped to take a break and thought to myself, "what the hell am I doing!" I actually really like the stippling work, it is very satisfying and it really didnt take that long at all. Just modified a wood burner tip and went at it.
the problem is that now I am stippling everything in sight! Good thing the dogs arent made of polymer....:D

So my Glock 23 turned into a project gun and I decided to do a grip reduction and stipple. Wound up I didn't like how it turned out and it cost me $225 for a new frame from Glockmeister. Long story short I like it how it was original and now Im stuck with a frame that Can't be used (yet:neo:)

Haha, I like the nod to the Delta Elite... very nice.
Well, Thank you. I thought it was cool to have the Delta Elite emblem on the side. I am getting ready to chop and stipple the newer Glock 20, and I thought about including the emblem on it as well.

Update from about a month ago. I posted a picture of my new G19 that replaced the first one that I had sold. Well, I just got back from vacation, and while I was home, I picked up 2 more as well.
http://photo-hosting.winsoftmagic.com/1/clcfzfb6ch.jpg
Top gun is a Gen2 G17 that is in very-good/pristine condition. It is well broken in, but was well maintained. I picked it up for my father as an early birthday present after finding out he enjoyed shooting my G19 (and also in an effort to get him to get rid of his hipoint:alcoholic: )
Middle gun is the Gen3 G19 with Meprolight Night Sights and a TLR-2 with grip pressure switch. I bought the G19 brand new, it's a July '11 gun, and even with all the internet crap about Gen4's and new Gen3's being crap, I fired well over 1500 rounds through the gun in about a week with no issues what so ever, and I also threw the gun in the Trinity River about 4-5 times. (Anyone that is from Texas, especially around the DFW area knows how nasty and dirty the Trinity River is. The water might as well be toxic.)
Bottom gun is a Gen3 G26 that I bought used. It looked brand new. I was told that it was an LEO trade-in, and the guy said he fired it to qual with it and only carried it as a BUG. This gun was well taken care of and barely fired at all. This gun also got about 1500 rounds fired through it over the course of a week, and was also tossed in the Trinity River. No issues what so ever.
Both the G17 and G26 have Meprolight Night Sights waiting to be installed. I bought the sights just before leaving, and didn't have the time or the tools to install the sights, so when I get home, I'll have to hit my buddy Daryn up to use his rear sight tool and install the sights. Over-all I'm very pleased with the trio, and although I didn't get to thoroughly abuse the G17, I know that it will make a fine home defense weapon for my father while I'm here in the desert. I'm sure I'll keep collecting Glocks. I want to find a Gen2 G19, and get a Gen3 G17 at the very least, so by the time I'm done buying Glocks, I'll have at the very least 5. 6 if I can talk my mother into taking classes and familiarization. I'll probably end up getting her either a G19 or G26 as a carry gun if and when she is ready to learn and become a shooter.

Great combo. I have those 3 myself, and am looking into getting a 2nd G19 as it is definitely my favorite of the 3.
Finally took a family photo.

I walked into the gun shop today to buy some over priced 5.56 ammo and I walked out with this...
http://i1014.photobucket.com/albums/af269/CoryCop25/Glock%20Gen4/P1010165.jpg
I have been wanting a G26 for some time now but I was unsure about the Gen4. I only fired about 60 to 75 rounds through it today but I am quite impressed. I fired from the 3 yard line out to the 30 yard line and kept all but maybe 5 rounds in the head area of a silhouette. I have owned 27s before and the 26 is much easier to shoot and I would say that it is more accurate. Recoil is very smooth using Remington UMC 115gr. ammo. I will switch out the sights for my usual Ameriglo Hackthorne sights that I have on most of my pistols. I do not plan on messing around with extended mag floor plates or changing out the back straps. I am considering a Grip Force Adapter.
Got ghost disconnector, 6# trigger spring, and the extended slide release installed. Just waiting on sights and extended mag release. Shoots like a dream, and the reset is indescribably better.
ETA: purchased a couple months ago - late gen 3 G19, with gen 4 extractor...ran 124gr for a few hundred rounds and stovepipes went away. Hit 750 rounds last night (115gr) no problems.

You gotta start somewhere and that is a great start. Over the years I kept coming back to the 19 from 1911's or Sigs and after about 3 years ago, finally committed to the 19 exclusively. It works for me.
Good luck with your new Glock, shoot it a lot.

Glock 19 is by far the best handgun ever made. Im sure i will catch some heat from this but I stand firm. Everyone knows its function and reliability, but also its small enough to be a CCW but also large enough to be your primary handgun (as apposed to your back-up). Some ppl might disagree with a 9mm cartridge but I carry it everyday and it works very well for me.

Ha! Far from it but thanks for the compliment. :dance3: I pulled my carbine out of the back seat and set it on the ground and pulled my pistol out of my holster (You can see a round in the chamber if you look close) and set it down and took a pic with a $50 Wally World camera.
The sights are just a set of Ameriglo DeFoors.
