View Full Version : The Official GLOCK Picture Thread
I figure it's about time we started a GLOCK picture thread.
Here's my first entry, I'll get more up later:

A glock picture thread. That's funny.
I have been waiting for M4arc to start this thread. It's his revenge for all the 1911 threads.
:D
What the hell, I love Glocks.

I used to be able to post a picture of my G34, BUT Chris "The Flasher" weaseled it out of me. It's only a matter of time & money until I buy another one.

The picture may not show all the finish wear at the front of the slide, it's basically shiny white there. I installed Heinie's Straight 8 sights, butt plug and an extended mag release (dehorned and trimmed). Otherwise, it's stock with probably less than 10000 rounds through it.

Wow. Either mine is too dirty, or most of y'alls are far too clean.
I'm waiting for the stereotypical "I love Glock" pic where the author shows his devotion through magazines.

Kevin - I know at one time you were issued a G17 so in comparison how do you like the G19?
I realy prefer the 19 -- it was an accident that we got 17's -- for some reason some bright light at DOS ordered the wrong p/n and got G17's without night sights -- instead of G19's with.
So we where stuck with the 17's for a few months until DOS rectified it and bought new 19's -- then they forbid using the 17's  since they are not certified
I shoot the 19 a lot better -- but I find it assinine that you can use a pistol for four months then all of a sudden it is not acceptable.

Kevin,
Why do you prefer the 19 over the 17 ?
Kevin,
Why do you prefer the 19 over the 17 ?
Obviously I'm not Kevin but I shoot better with and prefer my G19 over my G17. I believe USMC03 stated on Grant's forum that the grip angle of the G19 & G34 is slightly different that that of the G17. I don't know for sure but I am much more controlled and accurate with my G19. So much so I have considered selling my G17 to fund another 19 purchase.
I honestly dont know -- I have two personal 19's so there is that...
But I find that I can get a better grip with the damn thing -- and for whatever reaons I am more accurate with the shorter barrel and sight radius.
I would bet that Jeff/USMC03 is correct...
Here is a G23 that I refinished the slide.

I posted one my 1911 lady friends in the 1911 thread, now its time to post two of the Glock sisters that like to get used and abused.
Glock 19 and Glock 26, dirty whores love to be in my pants, are not picky on what they eat, and dont' bitch about not getting clean...
They love Wolf when they are outside plinking, but they really like it when they have Speer 115 gr +P+ GDHP in their stomachs and in my pants.
The 26 is my daily carry with 115 +P+ GDHPs. Also waiting on Javis (slow bastards) for a threaded barrel for the 26 so she can speak softly with my EVO-9.

Is it me or do the last 2 pics show a more aggressively beveled muzzle area on the 38 and the 26? My 19 is not beveled nearly that much., it’s more rounded then beveled.
That's how the subcompacts are.

How did I miss this thread?
Over the last 15 years, I've owned handguns from Sig, S&W, Les Baer, Colt, Kimber, H&K, Beretta, and several others.
I found that Glock's fit *me* best.
Sold off everything else and now own nothing but Glock 9mm's. From a training stand point and logistically it makes life so much easier (ammo, holsters, mags, etc)

My Glocks. A Model 23, in .40 S&W, originally purchased used in 1994. The larger one is the Model 35, in .40 S&W, orignally purchased new in 1999.
I have done a lot of work on the 35, and just recently added the Ralph Sotelo (www.triggerkit.com) trigger kit. I must say, it is by far the best money I have spent on Glock parts EVER!
http://www.myfilehut.com/userfiles/218228/Firearms/Glock23-35.JPG
I used to use the 35 in USPSA (IPSC) shooting several years back. It was used specifically in the Limited Class, prior to the onslaught of the Limited-10 Class! Now it's just a fun pistol for me to shoot!
Sorry, but my pic's didnt show...

I don't find it much harder to press since the material is very flexible, but one can cut around the mag release if it bothers.

here's my fairly new G19. put about 200rds through it before adding a TruGrip, THE captured guide rod (having issues with it), and Warren Tactical sights. Also relieved the trigger guard a bit and put on a clip draw. extended mag and slide releases will be on soon. at that point the only money thrown at her will be for ammo and range time :D

It looks like you moved the cut-out on the trigger guard for the high front strap forward a little. Mine hits my knuckle in a bad spot. The 9mm's aren't too bad, the 357SIG batters it more.

How did you paint your frame? I'm instrested because I couldnt find a colored G17 locally so I had to get black but I'd really like to get the whole gun done in one color such as Flat Dark Earth.
I've simply degreased everything before panting. But krylon is not a permanent paint...it'll wear off easily.
I was looking online and DuraCoat seems to be the ticket. Might send my G17 away to larsontactical (www.larsontactical.com) and get it all done up in a camo pattern or all solid in a green or desert color.

In Italy only LEO and .Mil can use 9x19
few years ago a lot of calibers were banned: 45ACP, 30-06, .308, .223,... that's why it's not strange to find military guns like garands,1911s,AR15s,etc chambered for 45HP, .270, .222

That is the most retarded thing I have ever heard. What is there logic behind it?

A lot of countries are like that. And don't think it couldn't happen here someday...
Frens, is it hard for you to find 9x21 ammo and magazines?
It makes sense to word a law that way- that is, if you want a stupid law in the first place. Wording it to say that you can't own "any military calibers" is requiring three words versus a whole list of calibers where you might leave one off.
It also probably keeps people from wanting the military's weapons like we do!
A lot of countries are like that. And don't think it couldn't happen here someday...

no it isn't.
mags are the same, only chambers and rollmarks are different; and 9x21 is easy as .22lr to find...no problem at all, 99.9% of the manufacturers offer this caliber (winchester, fiocchi, IMI, etc)

That's good to hear. I know one thing, you won't be subjected to the same BS we are here in the States. The price of 9x19 has soared recently because the military is using it up apparently. I just paid $16 per 100 at Wal-Mart yesterday  That's $5 more than it was a year ago!
it went from $11.88 to $15.94 sometime late January early February. $21.88 per 100 rounds of WWB 45 went up to $27.95.
omg!
ammo are pricey here but prices didn't change due to OEF and OIF.
4€ per 20 rounds Wolf .223 62gr
9€ per 20 rounds AE .223 62gr (considered nice cheap ammo)
22€ per 25 rounds Hornady .223 75gr
20€ per 50 rounds .45ACP Magtech
15€ per 50 round 9x21 cheap ammo made in easter europe (don't remeněmber the manufacturer)

Tough question. However, I have to say that I like the 17L better, but the G34 is no slouch.
The added velocity of the longer 17L is a nice bonus also. Both are great pistols.

Who did your grip reduction, and are you pleased?
I'd like my Glocks better with a 1911 grip angle and the bottom of the trigger guard reworked so as to miss hammering my knuckle.

David,

John
John,
Robar did the reduction. I really like it. The standard Glock 21 without a reduction just does not fit my hand. With this reduction, it is close to the 1911 grip angle, but there are differences.
here is a pic of my 17 with some grip tape I experimented with this weekend:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v441/DavidThomas/GLOCKcmmg004.jpg
Which do you prefer out of the G21SF and the M&P .45 gotm4?
I'm wanting a .45 and I like M&P's but the .45 isn't for sale in Maryland yet. But I do like Glocks and have a G17 so a G21SF would fit right in.

Thanks. Was considering that front set-up for a used 19 I'm eyeing. Is it good for CCW?
It is a great set up for range use. Very fast to get a sight picture, and easy on the eyes to me.
With that being said; I would not recommend a fiber optic as a CCW or Service Sight set up. For carry something more durable might be in order. Heine and Novak both make great carry sights and either would suffice on a CCW G19. My preference is for a black rear sight and dot (prefer tritium or gold bead) front sight.
When I CCW I carry a .45. If nothing else it gives me a "warm and fuzzy."
And now for something completely different:

I finally finished all the work I had planned on my G35. I am hoping to get a chance to shoot it this weekend.
The Glock 35:
http://www.myfilestash.com/userfiles/BoogeyMan/G35-0035small.JPG
I texturized the grip, undercut the trigger guard, added a thumb shelf, replaced the Glock barrel with one from Storm Lake, added the JP Ent. Mag release, added a Novak's SS extended guide rod, New ISMI springs, Warren tactical sights with F/O front and 5 new Glock G22 magazines, each with a Dawson 5 round extension.
I am extremely happy with the texturizing job I did. It feels like sandpaper, looks like a beavers coat and seems to be just what I wanted!
My belt:
http://www.myfilestash.com/userfiles/BoogeyMan/G35-holster.JPG
Safailand nylon belt with velcro inner, CR Speed magazine pouches (5 of them), Blade Tech straight drop holster (soon to be replaced with CR Speed, once it arrives) Notice that one of the CR SPeed magazine pouches is lying horizontal, this magazine pouch will hold a ten round magazine to be used for "Barney Loading" only.

I got pissed off at grip tape one day as I had to replace it once a week. So I grabbed my trusty soldering iron and went to town. It is easy to do once you get started, and as you can see owning a pretty gun does not matter to me, only functionality.

here's my fairly new G19. put about 200rds through it before adding a TruGrip, THE captured guide rod (having issues with it), and Warren Tactical sights. Also relieved the trigger guard a bit and put on a clip draw. extended mag and slide releases will be on soon. at that point the only money thrown at her will be for ammo and range time :D

Be sure to polish up that trigger bar why you have it apart.
What will that do?Im assuming it will make the trigger pull smoother,Good idea.
That it will. Put a mirror polish on those contact points and your trigger pull will be much smoother!
what can I use too polish it?
Use Flitz and a soft cloth. Would say use a Dremel, but a lot of people get carried away with their polishing when they go that route. PM me if you have anymore questions............

Thanks for posting the info. How well does this finish hold up to kydex / plastic holsters?

After going through the long "Sand Test" thread, and then seeing how it morphed into a .40 Glock thread, how does your 31 run? Any issues? Have you ever run a light on it?

I broke a trigger spring on it at 2800 something rounds. Nothing else has ever failed I don't shoot it much anymore since .357SIG ammo is insanely priced now. When I had just got into the gun business and worked at another store my cost on factory reloads was about $7/50rounds. So then I used to shoot the hell out of it. I put just a few hundred rounds though it a year now. Never shot it with a light mounted. I did shoot it at a GSSF match in Unlimited division (with a Siedler mount and EOTech 551) and didn't have any problems I put almost 1K rounds through it with that optic mounted before the match. SimplyDynamic probably remembers.

Is it worth the amount of time it takes to cut those little pieces of tape that go in between the serrations on the rear of the slide?
Good and easy way to make money for you, good way to waste money for them as far as I can tell. They don't appear to come close enough to the surface of the slide to help. Oh well, right? ;)
The 3m friction tape isn't suppose to be flush with the slide. With it being slightly flush from the actual surface of the slide, it gives a positive grip when racking the slide. No slippage at all. The owners like it. :)
