Arsenal SA M-7 no ban UF

Sitting at my dealer's....taunting me. I know it isn't the weapon my ARs are, and will feel awkward and stupid to try to run fast...but it's preying on my brain.

Someone tell me I don't need a ****ing AK.

Maybe you need an AK, maybe you don't, but you CERTAINLY don't need an underfolder.

A sidefolder would be nice, but the underfolder is uncomfortable as all hell.

Is it a SAS M-7 or SAS M-7A1?

The M7A1's have the 24mm RH threaded front sight arrangement, and were fairly limited production in underfolders.

The standard SAS M-7 uses the traditional 14/1mm LH threaded muzzle.

The top is the A1, the bottom, standard M-7.

Both are extremely high quality rifles, the best factory built AK's, period.

Underfolders aren't nearly as comfortable to shoot as a fixed stock rifle, but they do have a high CDI factor.....:D

I think you'd be pleasantly suprised with the quality of the Arsenal M7 series.

Not really, it's just not practical.

There should be some Arsenal Inc. SA-M7 Carbines out there, which are the civvie semi auto version of one of the standard military milled AK's that the Bulgarians produce, and that we bought for the Iraqi National Guard.

Have your dealer check with RSR, Amchar, and Lew Horton.

The M-7A1 has the 24mm threaded front sight block and flash suppressor, and the longer NATO length stock. I'd swap the stock with the standard Warsaw Pact length though.

The milled underfolders are softer shooting than the stamped because of the added weight of the milled receiver. The stamped receivers flex too and add a little to the "uncomfortableness" of the underfolder experience.

I thought the SA M-7s were all discontinued? That's why I was even considering getting this one, since I'm pretty sure the fixed stock would be more comfortable.

They're not totally discontinued, they're just being built in small batches.

Have your dealer tell his sales person at one of those three distributors that he's looking for one for you and to give him a call when they get a batch in.

You could also try Jensen Arms in Colorado, they typically have a decent selection.
