When I see the guys at TigerSwan color theirs, then I'll consider it. Until then it's gay.

You can pick up some testor's hobby paint and paint thinner from a crafts/hobby store. Slightly dilute the paint with some thinner and use a small brush to fill in the rollmarks. It should automatically spread as you press the brush into the rollmarks of the receiver. I've done this with the 'safe' and 'fire' rollmarks on one of my lowers. Its easy to do.

I used the Lacquer Stick's from Brownell's,,they work pretty good,,a little messy,,but if your careful it comes out pretty good ! In the pic here I had just completed it the day before and it needed to be cleaned up a little,,but it looks good overall I think ! You can use a White China marker also,,they hold up pretty well also,,I have heard that Sharpie has paint markers,,they mite be the hot setup for this kind of work. Hope this helps,,let me know how ya make out,,:)

Its a yin yang thing. Like getting a lower with "Zombie Hunter" or shit like that. On an HK it is expected and cool! On an AR/M16???? I know POF and folks do it, but still...for anyone in the game or trains well, you are never looking there! It's all feel. Given - for cosmetics if you were hanging it on your wall - it looks cool.

I put a little red on My HK45c Slide in the HK and the .45 auto and lightly in the compact it turn out pretty good and HK you can get away with it LOL:)

I did my Glock and my Glock mags, I used white for 40 cal and red for 9mm. Helps to keep them sorted out for quick grabs. I don't care for it on the AR though, to each his own. Just get the testors paint and use a toothpick to apply it to the roll marks. Wait a couple minutes and use a paper towel wrapped around a credit card, soaked in Hoppes #9 to clean off the high spots. I tried laquer thinner but it thinned out the paint to much. You can also use crayons but it will melt and run out if the surface gets hot.

Sorry, I just doesn't appeal to me... to each his own.

with possibly the exception for safety markings, i vote no on the colored roll marks as well.

Depends. I like it on some of the custom lowers like the Spikes Jolly Roger or the Mega ZEDU lower. Others I think are better off left alone.

Falls heavily into the "what ever floats you boat" category.

"Gay" guns are ones that are left in the safe.

There are multiple threads on coloring in roll-marks on this and other forums.
This one, however, is done.
