I posted a short review of the DBT Short Open Top Pouches on my blog. (http://jerkingthetrigger.wordpress.com/2010/03/22/diamondback-tactical-short-open-top-m4m16-magazine-pouch/)

I have been using these for around two years and I really like them for use on padded MOLLE belts or the belt version on velcro backed "duty" belts. I wish there were more reviews out there on DBT's gear. They really don't give a lot of details on their site which is a shame because they have some pretty unique features.

Thanks,
Matt

Nice review and photos. I linked back to your article from my blog btw, hope you don't mind. :)

One more thing... it would be cool to also see where you're running it on your gear and how you're using it. Speed reload pouch or feeder? How's the retention without the bungee? And any other specific observations that might bear on someone's decision to add this to their gear.

I used these pouches for a year in IRAQ along with alot more of there gear. I went through alot of KIT before I found DBT there gear it the best and they cut us MIL guys a real brake on our stuff.

Thanks for the great feedback!

These are serving as my main belt mounted mag pouch. When I am at a carbine class or something like that I will typically feed these pouches from a chest rig since I only keep two mags on my belt.

Retention is decent. If someone turned you upside down and shook you the mag would drop out. I have yet to loose one in the course of a drill with or without the bungee retainer.

I will try to be more thorough in future reviews and will add the above info to the review.
