Even bigger question: Is it possible to SBR it?

Might be possible to install a M&P15-22 lower?

Makes the M&P pistol seem more hopeful.

That would be pretty neat to mount on a rifle lower and add a suppressor. Too bad I can't.

In .22 caliber that thing has no practical appeal for me. Here's the link at S&W:

http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=11101&langId=-1&productId=763003&tabselected=tech&isFirearm=Y&parent_category_rn=15702

I would much rather have an M&P .22 conversion slide that fits on the centerfire pistols.

Looks like a fun little toy, but I'm with maximus83 on this; I'd much rather have a standard M&P pistol with a .22LR conversion slide and barrel.

I too was wondering if the new pistol could be converted on a Form 1 to an SBR. I have called S&W twice only to be told that the tech department had no idea this pistol was to be released sometime in April and they didn't know the answer. I have emailed them again tonight and hope to receive a definitive answer soon.
