There is a WallyWorld that I go by pretty often, and even during the worst of the ammo shortages last year they were never out of the most popular calibers for more than a few days. The supplies were usually pretty good, and you could buy up to 6 boxes at a time. Whenever I was nearby I stopped in and almost always left with between 200 and 600 rounds of WWB 9mm. As a result I ended up with a nice stockpile by the end of the year and haven't been back since late December. I was near the store a little while ago and had to pick up some other items and even though I didn't NEED any ammo, I stopped by the department just to see how things looked. This is what I saw.

This is over 270 50 round boxes of 9mm WWB, and there were over 70 more 50 round boxes to the right of this case. There were about 80 100 round boxes of 9mm WWB, and over 200 50 round boxes of Fiocchi 9mm. They had more 9mm than anything else, but there was a lot of 10mm, .40 cal, .38, .357, .380, and even .45ACP. This is the largest supply of pistol ammo I have seen at a WallyWorld in a very long time. I haven't seen anything other than .22 and shotgun shells at the Wally's in my home town (about 2 hours away) in over a year and a half. Not one single box!

I guess it just goes to show you how some stores must make an effort, and others don't really care. I couldn't help buying 6 more 100 round boxes of WWB. At $21.97 a box I just couldn't pass it up. What's it like in your part of the world? I hope you guys are as lucky as we have been around here.

I went to Wal-Mart today to buy some ammo. There is only one around that routinely has it. They had the 100 round boxes of WWB 9mm for $25... a bit steep, no?

I opted for the 250 round Remington UMC for $52. Now I don't particularly care for UMC, but $.21/round sure beats $.25/round. I bought 1000 rounds.

Last time I was there I got Federal 9mm for just over $9 per box.

I've never seen that much ammo at Walmart even in the good old days.

I've given up on the WWB value packs and am snagging the Federal for 9.47/box when I can find it.

You lucky SOB. The Walmarts around here are getting better but I still have to ration my 9mm.

The local wally world here always seems to have Winchester brass-cased 7.62x39mm and WWB .40 S&W, but no 9mm, .45 or bulk .22 other than the crappy Remington Golden Bullet that has now proven unreliable not only in my M&P-22, but also my Walther P-22 and my freaking Chi-com Mauser bolt-gun!

I bought all 4 boxes (50 rds) of Federal 115gr FMJ's that they had. At $9.47 a box, it wasn't a bad deal. The sporting goods section at my local WalMart has dwindled the past few years...now they mostly carry fishing tackle and yoga mats.

I have given up on WWB/Value packs. My local Walmart never has them in stock, and with current pricing, buying 2 boxes of Federal comes out cheaper, anyway at $9.47 a box.

I'm not sure where the "value" is anymore.

I reload..so, I don't have to depend on wally-world for my ammo supply..

Where might one find this particular WM and its cornucopia of ammo?

I'll be luclky to go by my local WMart and get even one 100rnd box of .45 WWB. It's probably disappeared in the 2 days since I bought the two I have. Not gonna stop me from trying, though....

I love Wall-Mart threads! :D

Two weeks ago I went to one of my local Wal-Mart Super Centers (I have five in the town I live in) and lowe and behold they had some UMC .380! They only had three boxes but I bought them at $18 a box for my dad as he has the need for it. The same ammo was going for over $40 at recent gun show.

You are lucky. The Wal Marts in my area are still a crap shoot. Especially if looking for 45acp.

WOW!!!!! I wish it was like that here. There is an abundance of .40SW but there is NO .45ACP....so where is this Wal Mart? LOL

I go to Wal Marts all over the midwest.
Lately I've been buying allot 9mm 124 fmj by RWS that I assume is made in Switzerland, since that is what is on a 50rd box.
I also have been buying allot of the 100 rd, .223 Federal 55 fmj boxes as well.
I have no knowledge of the procurement process they have, but every week I stock up at least 150rds more.
I don't remember what I pay for it, but I feel confident I am at a competetive price point.
Good luck.

I just picked up a ton of this at the local Wal Mart. They had more of it then I have seen in a LONG time.

Hmm... I guess that explains why the Wally-Worlds here in the Salt Lake City area never seem to have WWB 9mm... your store has all of it.

How are those shelves not buckling under the weight of all the 9mm?
